Christmas parade taping

Looking for info on the taping. My oldest doesn't care to see it, but my youngest is very interested, especially if they have Wizards of Waverly place kids there. I explained to him that, from what I knew, it was hours of sitting on the curb watching floats back up and go forward.

We've only been to WDW once when this was happening and we steered clear of the park, completely. Now I'm looking at me and ds 8 watching parade, while DH and ds, 10, go ride stuff. I know that my ds will want to ride the new Space Mountain with Daddy since he arrives on 12/3 and we will have been there for 3 weeks already.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Mary

That's the drill.

Whatever the opposite of "exciting" is...

OK, so what time do we arrive to make sure my 8 year old can see? I'm fine if I'm standing at the back, but he'll want to be sitting on the curb. Will there be a gazillion people there? Is a curb on main street the best place to be or does the parade go around the hub and is that a better place? Didn't know if they open the park early for people attending the parade or how that all works since I assume they start it early to get done quicker.

Here's the problem.

The INVITED (pre-arranged) guests will be arriving with special tickets very early in the morning before the park is open.

Walk-in guests will simply have to arrive when the park finally does open, and then you will be at the mercy of the producers as to where you can stand.

Parade Taping

Skip it. They run the parade over and over and over and your not going to get a really good spot to see it. It blocks up the parade route and they keep doing retakes. Skip it all together go to another park and enjoy your day.

I guess we will. Just thought it would be fun since we will have been at the parks almost every day for 3 weeks by then. It would be something different. We'll avoid MK that day and go elsewhere.
