Smile Chicken Exits

I'm heading off to the big WORLD in 14 days. My DD12 loves big, fast and intense roller coasters. I do not. She is uncomfortable waiting in line by herself and wont go on the ride. I want to make this a very enjoyable trip for her, so is there "chicken exits" on all the BIG rides?

You may exit ANY attraction at WDW after walking through the queue, without boarding and riding the attraction.

This goes for everything from Winnie the Pooh and Dumbo up to Space Mountain, Tower of Terror,
and Expedition Everest.

Just tell the "loading CM" that you decided not to ride.

Its no big deal at all.

The more involving/interesting queues at WDW are:

Pirates of the Caribbean
Tower of Terror
Rock'nRollercoaster
Expedition Everest
Its Tough to Be a Bug
Dinosaur
Test Track

And the PRE-shows to the following can be fun by themselves:
MuppetVision 3D
American Adventure ("Voices of Liberty")
Ellen's Energy Adventure

Special note:
In Haunted Mansion, there is even a "Opt-Out" Exit, just after you leave the Streching Room.
On your right, you'll see a door with this sign. That's the exit. (It also doubles as the wheelchair entrance.)

To be honest DW's only "intense" coaster would be EE. That said, it isn't that bad. I come from the midwest where if it doesn't go 80mph and the drop is less than 200ft, then it is a kiddie coaster!....lol
I don't do coasters, can't handle the heights. But I can do DW coasters. BTMRR is very cool. I highly recommend that one to start with, in all honesty anyone can do that one. Build from there.
But yes you can walk up to the train and just "chicken" out if you absolutely have to. But seriously, EE, SM, RNRC they are not bad.

No, no,no, those red signs with the word STOP on them are optional if they have a white border.
I hope you like Debbie Gibson? I did not and got busted at a DECA National Convention for skipping her concert!

just one of my embarassing mother moments! On our first trip to WDW I Went to ride RRC with my teen daughter, made it until I saw the car load and take off at the speed of light, I turned to my DD and said "your on your own, good luck" and took off out the chicken door. She NEVER lets me forget it
We are headed back in January and I promised my DGD that I would ride with her this time.

As Robo said, you can take the "chicken exit" on ANY ride. But I just wanted to let you know it's easy, not unusual, and won't make you feel silly.

I went to Disney a couple of a years ago with a friend who doesn't ride anything big. But I wanted to, so she waited through all the lines with me. This way neither one of us had to sit alone for an extended period of time. She just came through the line and said see you on the other side when I got to the ride vehicle!

Took the chicken exit this last trip on RnR. My husband wanted to ride it and I knew from experience I didn't. Waited with him through the line and as we approached the CM he asked how many and I replied 1 for the ride and 1 for the exit....He pointed my husband to a row and me to the door without even blinking.

A good friend of mine and I were on a trip this past September. She went through the que for TOT with me (she wanted to see the theming and preshow), but would not ride. She doesn't like elevators. She was concerned when we got through the preshow and into the boiler room that there would be no place to exit and she'd be forced to ride. I kept assuring her there was and it would be fine. When we got to the head of the line where they put you in your row for the elevator, I told the CM and he took her over to wait. I rode and met up with her in the dump shop. She was NOT amused that the chicken exit for TOT is in fact...an elevator. She told me she thought we'd tricked her and she was riding anyway. She really enjoyed seeing and photographing all she could from the pre show though...and I'm glad she got that far with me.

I always do this on ToT because I love the pre show and walking through the grounds and hotel. Very cool theming! Anyway, I've done it so many times that it doesnt embarrass me anymore. I get up to the elevators and tell them, "I need the chicken elevator" and they never blink an eye. They ride down with you and chat and then tell you where the ppl will come out of and where you sit, etc. They've always been very nice about it with me.

EE is also a queue not to be missed. I loved it and at the last minute, I ducked out. No problem. And I was by myself!
