How long is the walk from Bay Lake Tower to MK?

Curious if it is quicker to walk or take the monorail from the Contemporary. We will have a 3 and 5 year old with us and wondered if it is an easy walk for them.

I would guess that the walk is no more than 10 minutes from the Contemporary to MK. If you take the monorail, you will have to go all the way around (via ticket and transporation, Polynesian, Grand Floridian) before you get to MK. The monorail will take longer than walking.

it's about 10 minutes... the kids will be fine going to MK, returning after a day at the parks may be a different story lol

TagsMissy, my husband just called and told me to open up this thread, love the penguins!

I also agree, that the ride back to the resort might be better with young ones to take the resort monorail. Walking over might be fine but after a few hours in the parks they will be tired. Kathy

I'm long legged and in decent shape and I consider the Contemporary/MK walk a bit too inconvenient for the number of times I went back and forth. But I mostly avoided it because it involves regular, real world roads and if I'm staying in a deluxe, I want the real world exiled.

It's a nothing walk in the morning, maybe five or six city blocks worth, but it'll look a little pesky at the close of a long day.

I found the walk takes about 10 minutes.

As already mentioned, the walk is about 10 minutes. The monorail would take longer going from CR to MK because of all the other stops the resort monorail makes before getting you to the MK. Going back from MK to CR however, take the monorail since CR is the next stop and you're likely to be tired from walking around at the MK.

Don't forget if the OP does take the Resort Monorail back to the Contemporary once they are on the 4th floor they can then go on the skybridge back to Bay Lake Tower, since the entrance is located on the 4th floor.

Also note that the walk from BLT or CR to MK does have you cross one fairly busy street. There is a crosswalk and walk light but just wanted to note that. It's not a bad walk at all. Very easy. I've even made that walk late at night well after park close and had no fears of safety at all.

If you want the real world "exiled", why do you stay at the Contemporary? I mean, it CLEARLY violates that requirement, what with the busy road that runs right in front of it, carrying resort buses and service vehicles to MK, as well as regular cars to CR.

I mean, I can see how most of the other Deluxe resorts fit the bill, but CR???

If you want to feel exiled, try WL or AKL...

Walk is only about 10 minutes but the monorail is half the fun of getting there. Plus the monorails has good airconditioning if it is hot. Enjoy your trip.

To be fair you would only see those cars and buses with the Magic Kingdom View rooms, however my guess is people would focus on the Magic Kingdom and not the stuff you mentioned. I know that's what my attention was on when I had that view.
