?? about DVC on-line account info when on a waitlist for a room....

I booked a 5 day stay at OKW last weekend for Dec. 14-19. I'm on a priority wait list for the 13th. When I logged on today to view my reservation it had 2 seperate trips... one for the day of the 13-14 and one for the 14-19. I understand why it was made that way because I'm on a wait list for the other, but I'm wondering if we actually have already gotten the 13th booked for us. It does'nt say anywhere on the ressie that I'm on a "wait list" or "pending" or anything; it just shows the reservation. The CM that booked it for me told me that if the 13th became available, they would just go ahead and book the room without contacting me. If a reservation is not yet "filled" yet will it show "wait list" or anything next to it, or will it look just like any other reservation? Thanks so much! April

If it's on the member website, your waitlist came through. You will only see actual reservations on the member website, unfulfilled waitlists are not shown.

If it's listed with your upcoming vacations, you have it. Good news!

You can call if you feel more comfortable but waitlists do not show on the member website. If it is showing there it has filled and you have a confirmation number. Also, you would be able to look at your point usage and see where they used the points for it.

Congrats!

Congratulations on your waitlist success. Seems I need to know something about this "Priority Waitlist" concept. I've been on a normal waitlist to add 1 night to an existing reservation (treehouse, early Dec) and it simply isn't moving. What is the trick for upgrading to Priority??

I was put on the priority waitlist once. That was the time my reservation at the BWV was lost when I was trying to get VB, and in the few seconds it took, I lost both villas. I was put on priority for BW or VB. I was on the priority waitlist for 3 months, and the VB reservation came through 2 days before we were to leave for SSR, which was the back up reservation the CM made for me. It wasn't fun being on the priority waitlist, they don't all come through the way starstruck93's did!!!

Bobbi - Interesting! I didn't think there really was a "priority" waitlist. I understand why your transaction might qualify for one ... but why would April's (OP)? She phoned in late for a Dec reservation?

Who knows for sure if there is, or there isn't! Perhaps her CM was being especially nice to April.

2 days before we were leaving for SSR I got a call from someone in the DVC organization telling me that there was a room for us at VB. At that point, I wasn't sure we wanted it, I had made reservations for an Illuminations cruise while we expected to be in SSR, AND certainly, I had not asked to be kept on a waitlist 7 days out. I had sent a letter to MS when the problem happened, and I think this person was responding to the letter I had written so many months before. The man seemed surprised that I didn't jump at the room, but had to ask DH what we wanted to do. The man gave me a different phone number, other than MS's to call back. We DID go to VB and made the trip back to WDW for the Illuminations cruise. At one time I knew this man's name, and I did send a letter to him afterwards, but this problem was 2 1/2 years ago and my memory doesn't go back for details like this!

The lesson I learned is that I always ask if there are many rooms of the type I want to switch to before making any changes in my reservations less than 7 months out.

Hi! Actually the reason why I was put on the priority waitlist was because I called DVC the night before to book my reservations and the rep that I spoke to gave me the wrong information that prevented me from getting the 13th. I called back the next day because I had gotten some info on the Dis that did'nt correspond with the info that the rep had given me and sure enough the info from HERE was correct! So since the rep felt like it was the DVC's fault for me missing out on my ressie for the 13th, they put me on the priority waitlist. LOTS of thanks to the Disboard and Madison over at the DVC!! Good luck on getting your ressie, maybe call and ask about being upgraded to the priority waitlist. Thanks! April
