Help me decide where to have dinner - The DIS Discussion Forums

I'm staying at the HRH for one night in December. I'm planning on having lunch at Mythos one of the afternoons I'm there, but I need your help deciding where I should have dinner that night. I am open to trying something new, but I do not eat seafood or curry.

So, where should I have dinner?

My favorite restaurant at Universal Orlando Is over at the Portofino bay ....mama dellas. really good italian food . fun atmosphere and music. they sing at your table. If you like Italian...We have had some really good dinners at the Kithcen right in the hard rock as well. depends what type of meal youre looking for give me an idea of what you like Im always at Universal

I love Italian, Chinese, and Mexican food. Also love a good steak, or a nice chicken dish.

I know they have a Palm restaurant at the HRH, and I love their steaks, but I'm not planning going there, as we have one here in Boston.

My favorite is the Hard Rock Cafe. I've had their steaks and they're pretty good. I also like their BBQ Ribs & Chicken combo. Cocktails are excellent.

I would say The Kitchen at HRH.They make A mean grilled ribeye steak!!Here is what it comes with:
Grilled Ribeye Steak - Chipotle roasted corn, mash potatoes and red wine demi

I recommend Tchoup Chop. A little pricey, but worth it.

Tchoup Chop is one of Emeril Lagasse’s restaurants and is highly regarded as a fine restaurant. Service was exceptional and unique.

The décor was a beautiful collage of orange and blue with a water table flowing through the middle of the dining area.

Our waitress recommended the filet mignon with blue crab meat and hergot vert with a reduction sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and grilled string parsnips . I am not sure what all that meant but it was among the best meals I have ever had. My wife had the same and loved it, too.

My sons had a child’s filet and chicken tenders and a fancy and unusual drink that involved pushing a marble into the bottle.

My SIL got a dumpling box and salad and a shrimp appetizer and agreed that the food was excellent.

For dessert we shared a pineapple upside down cake with ginger ice cream, a chocolate cake with peanut butter, kahlua and pralines and coconut cream pie and we all agreed it was at least a great meal if not the best meal, ever.

We are returning to USF in January and customary to our vacations, will enjoy the adventure of new dinging experiences-- except for Tchoup Chop, which is a must to revisit.

I'll second that recommendation. Emeril's is great as well, but since you specifically mentioned Chinese I'd go here instead. It's not Chinese but definitely asian influenced.

That ribeye at the kitchen sounds yummy.

last boat out from city walk is at 2:15 am, meaning, after midnight.
busses run to 2:30....

According to Tchoup Chop website:

We recommend business casual attire. However, smart-casual attire is completely acceptable. We ask that the gentleman not wear sleeveless shirts.
