Hi all,
Can anyone give me a bit of comparison between terra verde and emerald island? It would be very helpful.

I've only stayed at Emerald Island but from what I know about the two:
Both had the same builder
Both have similar accommodations except that the townhouses at Terra Verde have either outside hot tubs or small pools.
Both are gated
Emerald Island is closer to Disney than TV. You can get to Animal Kingdom in 5 - 7 minutes using Sherberth Rd.
Emerald Island is bigger than TV.
TV has a zero entry community pool.

From staying at Emerald Island I found the grounds very well looked after, it's only a minute from 192 where there's lots of restaurants etc. ( We usually stay in subdivisions in this area.)

On the map Emerald Island is #15 and Terra Verde is #62

Agree totally with Sympatico...same builder and architecture is very similar. They did not put any of the big 7 bedroom homes in TV. TV is down Poinciana Blvd which makes trip to Disney a little more of traffic hassle. If you stay in TV, I would rec. not using 192 to get to Disney but going straight across 192 a mile and taking the Osceola Parkway west into Disney for about 75 cents. Will save lots stop lights on 192.

Both are very very nice, newer developements. If you are thinking condo, then the big pool will be a draw at TV. Pool at EI is large and hot tub is pretty big but public. If you are thinking single family home you will have your own pool. If an extra 5 minutes to Disney does not make a difference, whichever is the best $$ deal would be excellent for you...Good Luck...Ted

Anne
You have gotten wonderful advice.

Have a lovely holiday.

I can only add that there is a very active clubhouse at emerald island resort with a childrens program and tiki bar.

Here is some additional info.

We stayed at Terra Verde. We found it to be a great distance to SeaWorld and Universal. The grounds were well-kept, including the development pool. We had a 3 bedroom townhouse with its own hot tub. It has an outdoor patio, which i think was gated (though the hot tub was not covered). We liked it. We would return.
