Trying to Convince DH

I'm not sure this is the right board, feel free to move it if it isn't.

I see WDW is offering that "Buy Four Get Three Free" special again. My Mom and I took advantage of that offer and spent a week at POR in March. So, I went to the web sight last night and for DH and I to spend a week there in January it would be just under $1800. I believe Mom and I spent $2600 when we went in March, so going in January is quite a bit cheaper. Now just to convince DH that it's a bargain. I mentioned it to him last night and he didn't immediately put it down...so there's hope. :D

When I was there with Mom even though I had a great time with her, I kept thinking it would be fun with DH too so I would love to go back. Loved POR so would definitely like to stay there again. I just don't know if I can convince him we need to book it...soon...he's so busy with work right now that he can't see much past that.

I'll keep trying though.

Unless it would cause a problem at home, you can always book it and pay the deposit ($200) and then cancel if he doesn't want to do it. That's what I would do.

Good luck with that. I don't even ask Dh anymore. I just let him know we are going. We each get $$ every week I put my extra towards vacation. Disney trips are my thing and that is what I like to sppend my money on.

If you have the $200 I would book it and then after all these months if there is just no convincing him you can always cancel. I have booked places in the past without consulting DH and in the end he would give in especially when it became time to talk about the next years vacation. We spent a little over $3000 for the 5 of us in August at CR. Not even a month later after we returned home, i saw that if we stayed in a mod it would only cost us not even $2000 so he liked the sound of that. On top of it got free dining so we actually upgraded to WL. My DH said before we went on the trip "this will be our only trip". Turns out right before we left for home he had a great time and said we would go back in about 3 years. Not even a month later talked him into going again next year. With the free dining and everything included (nice not having to put your hands in your pockets for anything) it was well worth it. We would spend that amount alone going other places (not Disney) and werent able to go to parks every day so when we figured the price it is well worth going to Disney.

I totally agree! Or I might casually say during dinner, "Hey DCL released their itineraries for 2011 so I booked our favorite stateroom. We can always cancel later if we decide not to go." and he just says, sure whatever, that's 2 years away!

Yes i also always add "we can cancel if we decide not to go" knowing well that we will be going anyway but just add that in to make it look good.
