Nasty Room Smell - Credit Never Showed Up?
We were at ASMo 2 weeks ago. Midway through our stay, my parents' (in a connecting room) room smelled awful upon our return one evening. It came through the open door into our room too. I'm talking horrible, animal urine type smell. I immediately called housekeeping and after 3 different people 2 hours, and lots of frustration, they simply "masked" the odor. So then it smelled like floral urine. The manager that came to the room couldn't smell it over all the cleaner but said she would credit us 50% off one night for the room that it was coming from because she didn't have 2 other connecting rooms and we didn't really want to move since we only had one more night left after that one. She also said she would send someone the next day while we were out to clean the carpet, check the vents, etc. She said to call the front desk if we came back and it still smelled the next day.
The next night was the same exact thing. I called the front desk as she suggested. They transferred me to housekeeping "central" where I waited on hold 30 minutes and hung up in frustration without talking to anyone. My parents didn't want the floral urine smell again and we were leaving in the morning so I called the manager I spoke with the previous night and left her a message. We did not receive a call back and I still haven't seen the previously promised credit. Now, this was my parents first stay. I was very embarrassed since we talk WDW up so much. I am not a stickler for cleanliness but my mom was appalled by the brown stuff on the wall in the bathroom (the mousekeeper just kept moving the trash can back in front of it), the cobwebs, and the hair on stuff when we first got there. I am just so frustrated that after all this, I want to send the credit back to my parents with an apology for my poor choice in resorts but Disney didn't even come through with the less than $50! Honestly, the other 2 cast members were disgusted by the smell and it wasn't anything of ours that stunk it up. I'm sure the next guests were horrified as well. Anyway, sorry for the long vest, but who should I call? The manager, the front desk of ASMo, or corporate? Thanks for your help! |

Disney always tells you it could take 2-3 billing cycles on your credit card to receive any credits. They usually show up faster than that, but I don't think 2 weeks is extreme.

Took 4 weeks to get my refund from POP. Got credit for a nights stay.

Last year when I complained about our less than stellar stay at ASmovies, I too was credited one night's stay. I used my Visa debit card, and it showed up in a week. Sheesh, you think they would finally do something about that place!!!

You should probably write multiple letters, OP. I am really sorry about your stay and think ASMo just plain needs to be refurbished.
