DS, DSL, PSP or PSP GO, which is the best to buy?
Our 7 year old asked for a DS game then saw his friend who had a PSP game and then asked for that. He has NEVER and I mean NEVER asked for anything..ever. Christmas and birthdas have come and gone and he has never really been interested in anything. So seeing as he has askied for something, I want to get it for him,
I know nothing about the difference between the Nintendo and Sony systems, the DS and the DS Lite, and the PSP 2000, 3000 and the GO. Which is the best one to get a 7 year old? Which one has the most reasonably priced games? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks |

When I drink I find its easier to watch my children because I see all 3 of them double, so all 6 of them of them take all my attention

When someone refers to the DS, they most likely mean the DS Lite. The original DS hasn't been made for a few years. There is a new DSi, which has a few differences from the DS Lite. It has internet capability, a camera, an MP3 player. Its screen is also a bit bigger than the Lite, and it has no gameboy port so you can't play games that require it. The price is $130 for the DS(Lite) and $170 for the DSi.
I don't know anything about the PSP, I only know a few kids that have those, most of my kid's friends have the DS or the DSi. The games go up to $35. |

I think, at your son's age, he'd be better off with a DS or DSi. We have both DS and PSP, and I find it's really hard to find age-appropriate games for the PSP.

I agree with the above poster- a DS lite or DSi for a 7 year old is better. We have a DS for our 6 yr old, and 13 yr old had a PSP. Dad (yes, i said DAD) got a DSi when they came out, and 13 yr old decided he wanted one too...so he has a DSi now, too, and NEVER plays with the PSP anymore. Also, as other poster said, it's much easier to find kid friendly DS games... PSP, not so much...

I think you should go with the DS Lite or the DSi the PSP is nice BUT like someone already said finding games are a pain and also it is very touchy. My dd broke hers and she didn't even do anything rough with it.

My DS9 got the DS lite when he was 7 and he still really loves it.
So I recommend either one of those.
