Overall Plan - Looking for Feedback
I've just finished my general plan for my trip in January. Two children age 9, lots of stamina, the rest adults. We are going from Jan 19 - Jan 26. We have the QSDP, we plan on eating at 2 table service and are going to pay OOP, staying at Pop with Parkhoppers
Jan 19 - arrival day, check in, head to Magic Kingdom just check out the place, no set plans, if there are any walk-ins we may ride. Early night. Jan 20 - Rope drop @ HS, Sci Fi for Lunch (not booked yet, our ADR day is Oct 17th), return to hotel for dinner, Downtown Disney at night. Jan 21 - Rope Drop at Animal Kingdom, stay until 3 or so, park hop to HS, dinner at 4:00 @ 50's Prime Time, Fantasmic, followed by either right back to the hotel, or do anything else we missed or want to do again in HS. Jan 22 - Magic Kingdom, stay only the day, Downtown Disney, Wolfgang Puck Express for dinner Jan 23 - Rope drop at Epcot Future World, back to hotel early afternoon swim and relax, then return to Epcot for Illuminations. Jan 24 - Magic Kingdom, finish what we didn't do, might spend afternoon back at Animal Kingdom if we didn't get everything done there. Jan 25 - Last day at the parks, Epcot World Showcase during the day then Park Hop to Magic Kingdom for Spectro & Wishes. I'm just looking for any feedback or suggestions. A few questions, when park Hopping what is the best way (Disney transportation) to get from Animal Kingdom to Hollywood Studios, or from Epcot to Magic Kingdom. Thanks in advance for your help. Epcot to MK use the Monorail. AK to DHS use the DHS bus from AK. DHS to Epcot use the boat, it will make several spots but its a nice boat ride with great access to World Showcase, you arrive between France and England.
I think your plan looks great and I don't think it will be very busy so you should have no problem getting everything you want done. I wouldn't schedule a pool afternoon though since January weather can be very unpredictable, we might get a strong cold front that can drop temps into the 40's (good thing is it will only last a couple of days). Get pool time when you can. |

Stick with TGM
As long as you follow TGM advice you will be fine. I have used it twice now and he has been spot on each time. Definitely use the less crowded parks info as well as the suggested touring info. pair that up and you'll have a great vacation.
Some of our favorite advice from there is "Tired guests do not make happy memories". So true! Keep the TGM mindset and you'll have a ball. Zig when others Zag! |

about HS
I forgot to mention this in my last post. Unless your kids are big coaster/thrill riders you may want to spend that day at another park. My kids are 11, 8, 6 and we found this park to be the most difficult to see easily, even with TGM. If you are not there at rope drop and send someone ahead to get a fast pass for Toy-Story, forget it (especially if it is a crowded time of year or TGM gives it a yellow rating). Our Fast Pass volunteer was the 4th person in line at his machine after rope drop and our return time was about 11:30. Unfortunately that meant we couldn't get another FP until after 11:30. Bummer. We found that fast pass for Tower of Terror and Rock'n'Roller Coaster went quickly as well. If you are not interested in those things then this park can be very entertaining. We liked the Car Stunt show and the Muppets 3D. Both fun and entertaining.
What it comes down to is you know your family, plan for what you will enjoy the most. |
