Travelling with seniors

I am considering doing a 4 night cruise with my mom, dad and aunt - all 70+. What are good excursions for seniors in Nassau? The beach is not going to appeal to them, even though they were born on a tropical island

We traveled with our 86 yeard old in-laws and I highly recommend the handicap room for them. What a life saver. As for shore excursions. There is a good one that goes to a zoo and old fort. There was a little bit of walking, but not a fast pace.

Nassau for seniors?

I have booked my parents on the Nassau Harbor Cruise. I was afraid the Ardastra Gardens tour would be too much walking for my mother. I haven't been able to find a review for the Harbor Cruise. Has anyone been on this tour?

Will they want to do an excursion or would they rather enjoy what the ship has to offer that day? My parents would take a taxi over to Atlantis to do some gambling for a couple of hours after lunch on the ship and then come back to the ship and relax.

No, they would want to see Nassau even if for a short time. Except for my dad, they have never been to the Caribbean and my dad was a merchant marine in the 50's when that happened. But I think the Atlantis is a good idea. Walking is an issue but my mom did exceptional well in WDW in March so who knows.

I am also toting around my three year old DD and my 16 year old niece so I need to remember them in this equation.

If they are able, I would do one of the bus tours of Nassau, so they can "see" the city. They can see the forts and the Queens Stairs and not even have to walk down them.

It's funny to hear people talk about senior visitors. We often travel with my father in law -- he will be 89 this December and he does EVERYTHING. He is the one that goes to Disney with us and wants to "do it all". I have a hard time remembering that he is almost 90; I would swear he was in his 50s or 60s.

That is so cool. I hope I can be like that if I am lucky enough to get to that age. My hat's off to him!

Me too. My DH turns 65 in February, but you would never know it. He's just like his Dad.

I would like to hear about this excursion, too. We are traveling with my mother and MIL in January.
