1- Sorry, but no.
2- Hope she grows a bit.

The CM's at the attractions with height restrictions check TWICE for each small rider.
Once, at the entrance to a ride queue and again, just before boarding.

It is possible for a child to pass the measurement at the entrance to a ride queue and then be refused
when (s)he is measured again just before boarding.

There is no way to know for sure if a child who is near a given height will pass the measurement or not.
There are many posts here about children being allowed to ride a given attraction in the morning, and then
being refused on the same attraction, if they return to ride again later in the day.

Considering these various situations, it might help if you prepare your child for the possibility of being disappointed.

MOST attractions at WDW do not have a height restriction.
Here are some links to the ones that DO have a restriction-

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/height.cfm (enter "2 inches" to get ALL restrictions)

Depends on the ride. Some they really look . Teach her how to stretch her back/legs really tall. Put sneakers on her and pad the shoe before the ride.
My son needed to be 48 in. For RnRRC at DHS and was in crocs, stretched tall heels flat... She could almost rub a finger between his head and bar, she rubbed a plastic ID card between his head and bar then said "sorry". DH saw them pull a kid as he was climbing on that had been passed at the beginning of the line.
Don't get me wrong... I'm glad they are safety conscious!

As Robo said they will not allow her on if she is not tall enough. Its part of the CMs job and they have to do their job correctly or else risk being fired. When my girls were little I just bypassed these rides, no one likes rejection.

May I ask how old is your daughter? We just took DGS3 and he is 42", his mom is 5'10 and dad is 6'4, actually his mom (my DD25) was 23" at birth (I'm 5'7 and I don't know how she fit in me) anyway, he was frighten of a lot of the rides that he needed to be 40" for. He's not a daredevil like my daughters were/are. Even now he says he doesn't like the fast train (BTMR) but he loves the mommyrail (lol I love that it calls it that, don't we wish we all had one).

When DD25 was tall enough and DD23 was still too small I would take her to Tom Sawyer's Island when their dad took oldest on BTMR (no Splash Mountan yet), when he took DD25 on Space Mountain DD23 and I would ride either Indy or TTA. When he took them on the Teacups, I sat down (hate spinning rides). Don't concentrate on the rides that she can't ride but think of what she can ride. I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing vacation.

Just explain to dd that some of the rides have a height restriction and if she doesn't make it on - you'll do something else fun like (insert name of non-restricted ride here). It's Disney World....No child should be sad for too long.

It's a lot worse when older sib can ride and younger can't - but special time with the one parent can make up for that.

My dd was JUST BARELY 40 inches with shoes on at home and still got turned away at Splash Mtn (we didn't try any after this because we figured it would be the same result). But she was OK - just said 'ok let's go do this instead'.

Just prepare for it and you'll be fine.

well I wouldn't simply bypass the ride but have her measured at each one. They are all different. Teach her to stand tall and her goal is to bump her head not avoid the bar.

If she still doesn't measure up, ask them for the special card for kids that are too short. It's a fastpass for when they are tall enough and there is a different one for each height restricted ride, you'll have to ask for it at each of the different rides. There is even a spot on them that is filled in with the date when they do make the height requirement.

ummm, I'm confused. In the same post, you tell the OP to "cheat" and pad the child's shoes, thereby potentially increasing safety risk, and then say you're glad they are safety conscious?

to OP, I agree w/ pp's; but spend some time teaching her how to "stand tall" to be measured; it certainly can't hurt and might improve her posture.

But since I'm posting - I've never seen them check for thickness of shoe soles.

Ummm ... be happy that's the worst of your troubles?

There's plenty to do at WDW, regardless of height.

If it were me, I would: (1) plan on her not being able to go on the rides with 40" requirement, and prepare her for the fact that she will probably not be tall enough to ride them, (2) have her height checked at any such ride which she would like to ride (as previous posters have said, you never know whether she'll meet the 40" requirement for that particular ride until they check her height there), and (3) be pleasantly surprised if she qualifies for a 40" height requirement ride that she wants to ride.

not all of them do -

and there is also no guarantee that if she's 40 inches at one ride she's 40 inches at another. sounds strange right....

we were there in may and dd rode splash mountain, soarin and pretty much every other 40 inch ride EXCEPT test track.

we were there the last day of our trip and got a fast pass for very late that night. no one measured dd when we entered and weren't going to measure her but then the girl changed her mind and asked dd to stand under the measuring stick.

she got a credit card out of her pocket and pushed it between her head (pulling her hair too by the way) then denied dd access to the ride.

i was pissed. she had been on every other ride and because this girl managed to shove a credit card under the bar she was denied.

then didn't bother to check the next 3 kids the same size as dd and let them on no problem

the manager then came over and when i mentioned that dd had been on all the other rides and infact soarin just before we walked over to test track he said they made a mistake and when i said no - that she had actually hit her head on the bar he told me i was wrong.

long story short - i called cs that night and filed a complaint - not that she was denied access - i accepted that - but the fact that the measuring bars are not consistent. that 40 inches at soarin isn't 4o inches at test track and that i was told i was wrong when i wasn't.

so if you're ok at one ride you may still be denied at another one.

Um, use baby swap. Like all hose folks who go with children who are 39", 38", 37" inces tall do. Or you could avoid the rides she isn't tall enough to ride. She isn't going to be tall enough for RnRC - so use the same approach as you woud for that ride.

Truly, while it is many of the major rides, it's only a few of the many rides offered.

If she's tha close, you can have her ehight checked at various rides, but do let her know she may not ride. Most rides check height in two checkpoints - so she has to pass both to ride. Explain this in advance.
