Dessert party, Wishes minimum?
Has anyone has JUST a dessert party and met their F&B minimums? Since just the dessert menus aren't anywhere near $100, I was wondering if anyone was able to figure it out this way. There would be nowhere in a budget for a DP AND a reception at their costs!
Second question, if you have your wedding at the WP, can you still cut the cake and have it displayed at the Commander's Terrace? I would probably rather do it there than at the dessert party! I wish there was a middle choice between Wishes and Escape! I love the Escape package, but there are too many guests!

If you have a lunch reception with the $100 F&B minimum, you can have a dessert party and figure that in to the minimums. For instance, if you spend $75 on lunch, the last $25 could be what you spend on your guests for dessert party totaling to $100. Your F&B minimum is how much you have to spend per person throughout your entire wedding day. Lots of people have had brunch receptions with dessert parties at the end of the day. It gives people a chance to relax and change between your reception and the dessert party and keeps your F&B minimum at $75 a person.
You can also have certain foods that aren't desserts at "dessert parties" if your interested in that instead. The foods are just limited based on heating and preparation needs of the food. I'm not sure what the minimums are for that though. I don't know much about escape weddings but i'm sure someone else can answer your second question. Good luck with everything!

Thank you so much! I never thought about it that way.
I was just adding everything up, and it gets very costly very quickly! But, if there was a breakfast/brunch reception with the $75 minimums, it could be very simple and then the dessert party could be simple as well. Thank you!! |
