First time with a one year old!

Hello everyone
I have been to Dlrp many times before but this november I am taking my (just) one year old son.
I would really welcome any tips or advice on the Eurostar, Disneyland Hotel or the parks that will help us have a smooth trip.
We are going during Christmas season for 2 nights and my son isn't walking yet but is very active and boisterous!
In particular - I have never paid attention to which rides a one year old might be allowed on?
Thanks in antici..........pation,

dd was 2 when we took her but was as small as a 1 yr old lol and she was able to go on all the rides in fantasyland

make sure you take plenty of nappies, wipes etc as they are VERY expensive to buy in the park and only 1 or 2 places sell them.

there is a changing room for babies where you can also feed them etc but they dont allow you to take your pram in which can be a pain as it means struggling in with little one, handbag, changing bag etc and worrying about any shopping under the pram

dd celebrated her first birthday in DLP and it was great. I went well prepared with lots of nappies, wipes, anti bacterial hand gel, dettol spray, nappy sacks etc and the trip was great. We flew and kept our pushchair until the last minute but since then we've done Eurostar and it's really easy too, I have to say I prefer Eurostar although I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to flying.

I was a bit concerned about what dd was going to eat so I took a packet of weetabix as well as some plum baby food, just to substitute her if I felt it necessary. I also took tetra packs of baby milk which I used right up until she was 12 months as she was premature but you can purhcase fresh milk in the hotel shops. We only had one incident and I'm not sure if it was because dd was drinking bottled water (which we checked and it was fine for her to have) but we had a very explosive nappy a few days into our trip in Toad Hall, it was everywhere, up her back, down her back, all over the high chair etc but they were fine with it but after that I made sure I kept a change of clothing in her change bag as I had to buy an emergency outfit

In terms of rides we took dd on quite a bit, stuff that she really liked like IASW, Dumbo, Tea Cups, the Carousel and we sat in a carriage, Peter Pan etc and then we also took her on POTC and PM which she was fine with ... don't think she really got it

Hope you have a fab time

We've done WDW with a 13 month old, and just come back from DLRP with a now 2 year old and our 3 month old baby.

The baby care centre was good for changing little one and also had a seperate feeding/sitting area which could be a good place for your little one to be let loose from the pushchair!

Staying in the DLHotel is convenient -we went back to our room at least once each day (for a good midday nap!). And seeing the characters outside Inventions is far more pleasant than queing in the parks with a little one. It was really quiet last week and we had excellent character interaction each morning.

I'd also recommend avoiding character meet and greets in the park and opting for a character meal instead. We enjoyed Inventions (although very expensive!) and had a lovely quiet meal with loads of character time by eating lunch early at Cafe Mickey.

Depending on how fussy your little one is with food it might be worth taking some easy snack items or some Plum baby pots like a PP recommended. But in general CMs assumed DD would eat from our plates and we only paid separately for a meal for her when it suited us to eat something we knew she didn't like! When it came to eating more healthily we found that fruit at breakfast and buffet meals were the best option. Although there are plenty of places serving salads and little fruit bags (apple? or apple and grape maybe?).

Take more clothes than you need - or pack only one outfit per day and buy some new things whilst you're there . There's a lovely shop with baby things and lots of toddler clothes too

You might find CMs have different opinions about what/how your little one rides. We were told not to take baby on Buzz (which I would have been quite happy to do) and used the baby switch option - which worked out great for the toddler as she rode with Daddy and with Mommy! On Peter Pan baby could ride but at the VERY last minute the CM loading us said I had to take have her forwards facing - I guess to keep us safe when the bar lowered?

This might be a bit jumbled and long winded but plan to write very brief review of our trip later on tonight whic might be better!

Edited to add -
Eurostar staff/service was good. We were worried about arriving at Ashford on Sat night, each with a sleeping child, but when we mentioned it to a staff member one of her colleagues kindly came and found us shortly before we stopped and brought our cases off whilst DH dealt with the pushchair. I had baby in a front carrier - this worked out really well when travelling and in the parks.

We took it easy on both our trips but our DD was more flexible at 1 yr than she was this trip and hopefully you find that eating earlier/later and napping at odd times isn't a problem and gives you plenty of flexibility. And most 1 year olds just take it all in their stride and go on rides/meet characters, etc like it's something they do everyday!
