Where can you buy Disney Dollars now? - The DIS Discussion Forums

I was informed in another thread that The Disney Store is no longer selling Disney Dollars. So where can I get some for our upcoming trip? I always bought some for my kids before we headed down!

From what I am understanding, you can still get Disney Dollars at the world. And I think you can order them somewhere too, possibly on the Disneystore website, but don't quote me on that because that is what I have read on another post somewhere. You can still get the Disney giftcards to be used in Disney, it is more of a debit card type of deal and may be easier for the kids....

I was told by a CM at my local store that they are only available at the world, but there are new gift cards coming to the stores with more than just the Mickey design. I guess they are trying to do away with the paper money. There is no way to track it and the CM said on many occasions a stack of Disney Dollars would go "missing" in transit to or from a store.

This was very upsetting to me because my children LOVE getting Disney Dollars as gifts. A gift card just isn't the same.

We just came back and they are hard to find.
You can ONLY get them at guest services locations in the parks and DTD or at your resort check-in desk or conceirge.
Nobody else will give them out.

I think that Disney is only distributing disney dollars that are in uncirculated mint condition. It encourages people to keep them as souveniers and not spend them.

I was able to pick up some for my kids upcoming trip before they stopped selling them this past weekend. I did come up with this info that you can get them through mail order but you have to pay $10.00 for shipping and handling:

In addition to the exact denomination requested, please include your

Oh no, no more Disney Dollars at the Disney stores

. That is how I save for our trips. I don't mind the gift cards but I wish there was a way you could add money to it online. We don't have a Disney store where I live anymore so when I find one I stock up on Disney Dollars. I still have $200.0 left over from this trip that will be used on the next trip.
