Pics from OKW and stuff!

First DVC impression, LOVE IT! We checked in yesterday around 1p the CM was very nice and helpful. I didn't even ask but our room was ready when we got there! really wasn't expecting that. We are in building 12 and really close to HH. very nice. DH is very pleased with being so close to the main area. He has gout, and was flaring up last time we were here. The kids really like it here also. We checked out the HH yesterday and it is lovely.

We ate lunch at Olivia's and it was really good. Dh was looking over menu and said "nothing really looks good here" he is usually the adventurous one of us two. We got the special which was the open face roast beef with mashed potatoes. very good. The kids enjoyed their lunch also.

We went to MNSSHP last night and we are so sold!!! It was fabulous!! The longest we waited for any ride was 20 minutes before the party started. The parade was awesome. got front row seats in front of castle for the second run. Tried to get pics of headless horseman but was unable. Camera wouldn't work fast enough. The villians mix and mingle was cool. Hallowishes was great!! We really enoyed last night. we pooped out around 11p and couldn't go any further lol since we didn't get much sleep the night before. Already planning on coming back next year.

OH, the room, We are in a studio and it is nice. It is clean and roomy. It is me, DH, DS8 (for one more day), and DS 7 and we seem to have enough room for all of us. The boys love the balcony. We got a view of the golf course. I was really surprised. We aren't one to make demands for views and we usually get parking lots, which is ok. One side of the balcony is as everyone said overgrown but the slice of golf course is nice. I had my first cup of coffee out there!

Thanks everyone for all of the tips i have gotten here!! They have really helped. DH is beginning to see all the little helpful things that is making this work!

EDK35, i think a studio is fine for a short visit with your family!!

We are off to DTD today, then swim some and have ADRs at WCC tonight. Can't wait to explore WL!!

Buying DVC is so worth it for us! Cheers to all. Kiddos and DH stirring around now!

Sounds like a great start! I probably wouldn't want to do 4 in a studio though, but I'm guessing you wont be in the room much anyway.

Here's hoping the rest of your trip is great! We consider OKW as our second home and I am wishing I was there now!

Glad to hear you are having such a nice time at OKW. We were just there two weekends ago and it was great. It's our home resort but we hadn't stayed there for a while. We enjoyed taking the boat to Downtown Disney at the end of the day instead of taking a bus or driving there. We also ate dinner at Olivia's one night and enjoyed it. OKW is a nice and relaxing place to be after the crowds at the parks.

Love OKW and I'm glad you're experiencing all of the wonderful things it has to offer. If you get a chance you can take the boat to DTD or back, it's very nice at night. We're heading to OKW in February for 4 days, school is out and I'm darn tired of doing Disney in 90 degree weather!

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

thanks everyone for the responses. We are having a very nice relaxing trip. We did take the boat to DTD. kids really enjoyed it . that was one thing we really liked when Dh and I stayed at Dixie Landings in 1992. the boat is heavenly.

The boys got to experience the unbirthday party today. Went swimming in the main pool and hung out in the community hall today. the boys are really enjoying themselves. We are getting ready to head out to WL for dinner at the WCC.

OKW is so lovely!! Really enjoying it! Can see many visits here as a second home so far!!

Off for more fun!!

Glad to hear you are enjoying your stay. We are coming down Wednesday. I was encouraged to hear that your room was ready. I hope ours is too because we will be driving 12 hours straight through.

I had 2 questions:
How are the daily crowds?

Is is still HOT and HUMID?

(We popped in for a short stay in July and it was Hades kind of hot and I was sure that we could have taken a drink of the air it was so humid)

I hope your trip continues to me magical

We stayed in 1221 last year & loved the location - close to HH & yet very quiet. OKW is wonderful - enjoy your stay!

hmcfall 711 - it is still very hot but supposed to be cooling down a little on sunday highs in 80's i think. We have only been in the parks one day so far which was thursday for MNSSHP and the crowds were very low to me. the party was great fun and walk on rides.

patricia721 - we are in 1220 and love the location and very quiet as you have stated.

Well, we just got back from WCC for dinner and it was really good. We love a good BBQ and lots of food. We are off to Chef Mickey's tomorrow AM for breakfast and a Haunted mansion cake for my DS's bday. yeah!!! 9 tomorrow. He is so glad i mentioned doing this for his bday! He wants to go to Epcot after that so i will report on crowds there also but expect it to be more crowded with F & W going on. guess i will get to experience that after all.

Going to call it an early night since we were up so late last night. Got to get coffee ready for the AM.

Happy Birthday to you DS! It's my DS's birthday today as well, only he's 19! Time flies. I hope he has a wonderful day and you all enjoy your trip.
My family will be arriving at OKW on Friday 10/16 for our first DVC trip. So excited! It's nice to get your input concerning OKW, and the crowds and the weather since we'll be there soon, too! Have fun!!

Leslie
