SSR studio?

I know the overall room (including bathroom) is larger, but how does the the area with the beds compare to Moderates or Values in size? Is the sofa sleeper comfortable for an adult? This is a girls only trip with Mom and sister.

The sofa bed is comfortable for sofa bed standards. I have not slept on it but DD10 doesn't mind it at all. I don't know that I would be OK with it for more than a night or 2. The little extra space is nice and I like having the patio or balcony, which you wouldn't have at a value or moderate. SSR is a good choice for an adult trip, IMHO, it's peaceful, the grounds are beautiful and you can walk to DTD. I wouldn't hesitate to go there with my mom & sis. But Sis and I would probably have to take turns on the sofa bed. Have fun!

it was only me and DH there so we didnt use the sofa, but it was quite wide, and i presume opened up to a good size too.
its been 4 years since i stayed in a mod, but i remember it being smaller than the SSR studio. i was actually surprised at how big the studio was. we transferred from SSR to AKV, and was shocked at how much smaller the AKV was

The SSR Studios are 355 sq ft, so not much larger then a CBR, WL or AKL room (340 sq ft). It was smaller than I expected when we walked in.

The pull out couch is hard as a rock! I slept on it for 4 ngts, but requested an egg crate after the first ngt. The BWV pull out bed is far more comfy - slept on that for 5 ngts and it was fine.

SSR does feel adult oriented, but the pools are great for kids. It is not my favorite, but do not have a single complaint about the resort itself - housekeeping was fabulous, we were not even a minute from the first bus stop in Grandstand. If we were to stay there again we would request Congress Park with a DTD/Lake view.

It was a very relaxing resort, teeny gift shop, small "food court". We were not crazy about the the rather isolated walk to the Lobby/Food court are and the condo feel.

Sometimes great rates can be found for SSR, so we could wind up there again one day.

Have a great trip!

My sister and I stayed at SSR together on a 'girls only' trip a few years ago. We were lucky enough to be put in a newly opened building and were the first guests to stay in our studio. When we opened the bed, we called the front desk because we thought they had forgotten to include the mattress in the sofa bed. Only then did we learn that there was no mattress. The sofa bed is very flat and hard. There is some padding, but its actually part of the bed. It was horrific. It may be fine for younger kids, but neither of us could tolerate it. We ended up sharing the queen bed, which was fine for us.

I've read lots of reviews on the sofa beds and it seems to be split 50/50. Which leads me to believe that those who like it, must like very firm mattresses to begin with.

I'm staying in an SSR studio again later this month with a friend. Since we are driving down, I'm packing a featherbed for the sleeper sofa. I'm hoping that will help make it more comfortable.
