Convention Room Cancelation Policy? - The DIS Discussion Forums

So I have a convention to attend at the grand floridian (I know terrible duty

) and we originally decided to tack on a couple of extra nights. Now we may not be able to stay for the extra nights.

They asked for a one night room deposit when I made the reservation. Does anyone know what the cancellation policy is for rooms like this? I still have to go for the convention but want to cancel the non-convention days. They never told me the policy and I did not think to ask

I just assumed it was the usual, but now I all freaked out

and of course they are closed. They are only open until 6PM EDT which is 3PM EDT, so I thought I would ask here. Does anyone know if there is a penalty if I cancel?

1) Room-only ressies were always 5-days.
2) But, check with your convention staff.
3) They frequently make side-arrangements with Disney for extra nights.

I called this morning! They said it is just a modification not a cancelation
