DVC resales

I really want to buy into DVC but really don't have the cash to do it with a new contract at BLT. Who has done a resale and how did it work? Who did you go through to buy it? If you buy a small resale can you add on to it in smaller increments than the 160 point minium?

Resale works great. You can add on any contract that you find through resale with the same UY or you can buy a 25 point min contract through Disney.

This may have changed but I believe 25 point contracts are available only when paying cash. I think you have to get at least 50 points if you are going to get a loan through Disney.

We bought and sold all our contracts through the timeshare store with great experiences. Our first contract was 75 points @ BWV, then we bought an additional 50 points @ VWL, then we sold all those and bought 190 points at OKW. We were fortunate in that we had the money saved so we didn't have to finance any of it but like I mentioned, we had very positive experiences with the timeshare store. My DH did the 1st 2 contracts completely over the phone, fax and email, for the OKW contract, we were going to be down for the closing so we brought all the paperwork in person (and got a lovely gift basket). While our contract is shorter than if we went through DVC directly, we did save quite a bit buying resale.
