DVC Villas vs. AS Family Suites

Greetings from Cincinnati! My DW and 2 DD (4 mos. and 2) just returned from a 7 night stay at OKW (2BR villa shared with one set of grandparents...aka, reinforcements!)

Naturally, as soon as we returned home, we began discussing next year's stay. For the past three years, we've been staying at DVC properties (utilizing the 40% + free dining bounceback offers). Unfortunately, the BB offer this year was simply for free dining, so we decided to NOT book it. However, we are now looking at the AS Family Suites for a 10 day stay next year.

I've read the reviews online, but am looking for some feedback / comparisons. The lack of a "full" kitchen and laundry are certainly not a deal breaker, just wondering about the overall feel, etc.

Any and all feedback is welcome!!!

Compared to DVC, the suites will seem like a step down. That being said, they are still comfortable and set up nicely for families - just very basic without a lot of amenities. The decor is also pretty blah. If you are still planning on sharing with the grandparents, it might end up being pretty cramped as well. One of the beds is a queen and in the other room there are fold out beds, one full and two twin. I think this is a better set up for two adults and two or more kids than it is for four adults and two children.

If you don't spend much time in the room I'd say they would be just fine. Another alternative might be the Fort Wilderness cabins which sleep six and have a bit more room.

Thanks! Next year will be just the four of us...no grandparents this trip. We'd either book the fam suite or a 1BR villa!
