MCO-NYC airfare question
On September 28th, when JetBlue had a one-day sale, I booked our outbound flight: Dec 8th, LGA-MCO, $69.60 per person (taxes + fees included).
However, the inbound flight--on Dec 18th--has been listed at $115 (inc taxes and fees) since I started tracking the fare. This price wasn't affected by the one-day fare sale. I started wondering if perhaps the price of the return flight is never going to go down, since it's on a Friday. JetBlue shows a grid of seven days and I see that the Mon/Tues/Wed prices are about $20 lower than the Thr/Fri/Sat prices. I've been watching the return flight we want and it's still mostly empty--only 25 occupied seats out of 125 total seats--so I haven't bought the tickets yet. Does anyone have any particular insights into the possibility of this fare going down? TIA for any info.

I booked MONTHS ago from JFK-MCO on JB. We're flying on Fridays for both legs. The outbound from NYC flight has not gone down since we booked and the plane is not even half full yet (and we leave in 2 weeks - booked at $105 & it's $165 now). The flight back from MCO went down to $79 a couple of weeks back & I was able to get a JB credit, but now it's back up to $120 (and the plane is half full 3 weeks out).
The one-day sale they had didn't affect me because it wasn't good for Fri & Sat flights.

WOW, $115, is an amazing price for a oneway ticket from MCO to JFK, with your outbound, it's $184, which is an amazing price! I'd book it before it goes up, they could easily cancel the flight and rebook the passengers and you're getting closer to the date and it is close to the Christmas season.

Thanks, everyone! Much appreciated.
I'm going to book the flights later today. I was just spoiled because our round-trip fare this past January was only $145 on JB and I was hoping for something similar, but I guess $185 isn't too bad, either.

Update from OP
Hi everyone,
First off, many thanks for all your helpful posts. I booked the return flight today. The plane is still largely empty, but the price hasn't moved and I certainly don't want to see it move in the upward direction. Only the plane can move in an upward direction! ![]() At any rate, the return flight we're taking on 12/19 was $114.60 per person, and it was the lowest-price flight MCO-EWR on 12/19. It's the latest flight, so that probably has something to do with it, but all of the other flights that day were at least $25 more pp than this one, so I felt the Inevitable Price Climb calling out its warning. That's it! We're going...and...we're coming back.

Exactly 2 weeks out, plane just a couple of seats past half-full, and the outbound ticket has now climbed to $200 per person. Glad I purchased when I did.

Hi NYCers!
I generally fly US Air cause I'm a frequent flier with them, but the fare is super high and there are no non-stops. So, I'm considering JetBlue this time (I've flown them for business, but haven't ever booked them myself.) Did I understand one of you to say you got a credit from Jet Blue when the price went down after you'd booked? That's amazing! Is it because you are part of their ff program? And overall, do you enjoy Jet Blue?

I love JB - used to fly Continental, but only do JB now!!! Love the DirecTV on the planes and the satellite radio. I am a member of TrueBlue - their FF program. I almost have enough for a free r/t flight (partly because I also hava JB Amex so everything earns FF miles for me)
