It's true Busch Gardens and Sea World are SOLD!

It was announced today on our local news that InBev sold off to Blackstone group for $2.7 Billion. Now just so you know Blackstone owns half of Universal Orlando, so they know how to run theme parks. We shall see what changes if any they will make.

Interesting. I believe Blackstone owns the Hilton hotel brands as well.

Here in Virginia, Blackstone Group aquired Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country U.S.A.. It will be interesting to see what changes will be made.

Just getting home and saw the news crew outside the Sea World parking lot (I live across the street from Sea World San Antonio). I knew immediately what that meant and that was the lead story on our news (DVR). We currently have 2 major theme parks (hoping to add a third -Texas Mickey-in the next 10 years) and both have been big newsmakers lately. I'm glad the sale is done and hope Sea World is better for it.

Yeah, Blackstone owns a lot of tourist things, so they'll be the next big competition to Disney. But I don't think there will be a merge with Universal and Sea World, because they only own half of Universal. Who knows how it'll go. Maybe the guest service will be a little better with this. I don't think things could get worse...

This is overall good news,a company with experience in theme parks buys the parks from a company that really didn't want anything to do with them. The only bad news is you won't see the Clydesdales at the parks anymore as they're not considered Busch Entertainment, but rather beer marketing.Expect some other minor changes but otherwise the plans will be pretty much the same.

Yeah that's why they said about the Clydesdales. It's gonna be tough explaining to DD4 that the horses will no longer be there as that's all she's known since she was born. She loves the Clydesdales. It will be sad to see the last ride, if there even is another one.

I wonder what they will do with the Hamlet's?

True but I think you'll see more joint advertising and promotions since Blackstone does have a hand in both resorts now. I also think a joint AP of some kind is coming down the pike.

Perhaps a joint AP or better multi park tickets and prices could be in the works.
