How do you handle eating breakfast (esp if you have young kids)??

We are going in DW staying at WL from 11/30-12/7. It's me, DH and DS (3). We are usually awake at home by 7am at the latest, so making RD each day won't be an issue!

We have breakfast reservations 2 of our days but the other days where we are going to the parks.. how do you handle eating breakfast?

Do you eat in the room? Do you have a sitdown at your resort? CS at the resort (do they even have CS breakfast at WL??). Do you bring food from home? We don't have a fridge in our room so we will need to figure out how to handle milk/juice in the morning...

I don't want to waste time once we are in the parks to stop and eat breakfast.. but I can't seem to figure out the best way to do this

If it was just DH & I we'd grap some mini-muffins and eat those on the way to the parks but DS will need something more substantial (like cereal bar + a banana + milk or something similar).

Any thoughts/ideas?

We ate in the room. Ordered milk and breakfast foods(muffins, pastries, applesauce for DGD) from Garden Grocer. Didn't want to waste time in the Food Court in the AM.

We always have breakfast at the food court, it is usually fast and they have a great variety at the Value Resorts.

I have not stayed at WL so I don't know what their food court is like, all the Values are pretty much the same.

When mine were little, I would bring a box of cereal & let them snack on dry cereal while I got dressed. (I would let them have cereals that were healthy but ones that we don't usually buy so it seemed like a treat.) I would get a couple pieces of fruit the night before at dinner & let them split it.
My children were fine with water, but there are places in the park to buy juice & milk. We aren't big breakfast people. Mid morning, I would give them another fruit snack or granola bar & juice box.

I always bring a box or two of cereal bars, even when traveling solo.
It’s a good start to the day and you can save a few $.
You can also carry a couple to the parks with you to keep you going.

They do have a CS at the WL so that is not an issue.
They have milk and muffins and hot stuff if you want it.
They probably have a kids breakfast for like $5/$6 that has Scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, muffin & orange juice.

At Wilderness Lodge, if we don't have any other breakfast plans, I'll go to Roaring Fork and pick up breakfast and bring it back to the room. I'm always done getting ready first, so this works out best for us.

I could be wrong...someone verify for me...but I think you will have a fridge in your room. I believe they are standard. If there isn't one you can ask for one and it is free. This way you can buy milk and bring cereal. Quick and easy way for breakfast in the room.

We have always brought food from home and do a grocery store run once we arrive and then eat in the room most of the time. Depending on the length of the trip, we do one or two character breakfasts and eat quick service once or twice. For a one week trip, we would probably do one character breakfast and one quick service, for example. As far as the fridge, aren't they standard in the deluxe (maybe even moderate) resorts? We stayed at WL and had a fridge, no extra charge. They're small, but it's amazing how much you can put in them. Our decision to eat in the room is somewhat based on cost savings, but also the fact that people can be eating while other people are showering so it saves time.

We usually eat in the room in the morning.

At WL, you will have a fridge in your room- all deluxe resorts provide this.

There is also Roaring Forks, a quick service location in WL, that will have breakfast items, pastries, fruit, cereals and hot meals.

And if you prefer to wait until the parks, there will be options there as well, though not many as far as a hot breakfast meal goes.

Yes we have had fridges in our rooms at WL. We bring packets of oatmeal and small boxes of cereal from home and purchase milk, juice and fruit in the store or CS at the resort. You can get hot water (supposed to be for tea) for the oatmeal at the CS. The kids eat while we get ready for the day. We also bring plenty of snacks for the kids, juice boxes and bottles of water that we take each day to the park. It does take up some room in the suitcase but then we have the extra space to put our purchases on the trip home.

We will keep things in the room that we can take with us and eat. Fruit, granola bars, or those individual serving size boxes of cereal.

Oh wow, I didn't know we'd have a fridge! That is great to know.. thank you.
Now it will make things a lot easier.. I will bring cereal, cereal bars, some other easy snacks.

Thank you all for your advice!!

Me and my boyfriend eat granola bars on the way to the bus/car every morning. We also bring along mini soymilk cartons that don't have to be refrigerated. We stick them in the ice bucket, filled with ice, every night before we go to bed. They're not extremely cold in the morning, but they're cold enough to enjoy.

We don't like to waste time in the mornings on breakfast. We really emphasize that fast part

Then we usually eat an early lunch, semi-early dinner, and a snack before heading back to the room for the night.

When mine were little we carried in a few morning snacks for the little ones. Fruit and dry cereal as well as juice boxes and now they even have milk boxes that need no refrigeration. I get mine at BJ's and they have both chocolate and vanilla.

We always did an early lunch and then back to the resort for naptime so for us that was enough.
