Our big ole family cruise

Can't wait for our family cruise in December, all 18 of us. We will be taking the New Years Eve cruise on the Wonder. Most of us have cruised on the Big Red boat in the early 90's. Everyone says thats not really a cruise, well compared to Disney.
Not too many people have signed up for the cruise meet on the Dis, even though my TA says the boat is almost full How can that be?
Looking forward to making lots of memories!

Just wanted to say HI! We cruised on the BRB back in the 90s also. And we are all going on a family cruise in February. Have fun! The New Year's Eve cruise sounds great!!

The only thing better than a Disney trip is a new tag!
I want my tag fairy to be Jon Bon Jovi in a soft white robe . . . or not!!
Pick on Bon Jovi and you'll be living on a prayer

Most of the 3 and 4 day cruise meets thread are very quiet. Sometimes it will pick up about 6 weeks from sailing and other times not. I found a thread for our upcoming 3 day in January and I think there are only 4 or 5 other familes on it.

The Big Red Boat was a ship operated by Premier Cruise Line. From the mid 1980s until about 1994 Premier operated the Big Red Boat as the official cruise of WDW. Disney and Premier announced their split in late 1993, at which time Premier announced a four year contract with Universal Studios. They went bankrupt and folded in 2000.

Went on our first and only cruise on the Big Red Boat for our honeymoon in 1989. Getting on the Wonder to celebrate our 20th in 37 days.

Hope you have a great time on your family cruise. I would love to cruise with extended family. But our extended family seems to always plan trips for when we either have no vacation time or no $$.

Another BRB veteran..

We were on the Big Red Boat for our honeymoon back in 1991 - 3 days in Disney and 4 on the boat. Back then, I had to sit on the bed if DH wanted to get dressed! And the shower - OMG, it was soooo tiny!! What a shock when we saw our cabins on DCL - more than enough room for our family of 4!! We laugh now when we think about that cruise. We had fun, but are very thankful for the amenities of DCL!!!

joksten2000 So true about the memories. Our 5 kids their spouses and our wonderful 7 grandchildren! Doesn’t get any better than this!

jbm02 That is what I keep hearing about the difference between the 2 boats, room size and amenities. That first trip was a gift for us from my in laws. The best in-laws ever, btw: thumbsup2 We didn’t do any of the planning ourselves, they had everything taken care of. I think we had about 28 people all together.
Our family had a fairly large room I guess because we had all 7 of us. We also had the split bathroom so that made things easier. We had a porthole window which was pretty high on the wall. We had the best time. So we are eagerly anticipating this trip.
