Back from Boardwalk villas...

Just back from Boardwalk villas...great room, great stay. We were there a week in a 1 bedroom with 2 young kids (2 and 4). Me (mom), Grandma (slept on the pull out couch) DS - 4 DD - 2

I was worried about the hotel as I had heard "bad" things about it on this board, but I have learned to not believe all that you hear....

Noise: virtually no noise from the remodel, we were in a preferred view room facing HS and the quiet pool...room 5091. Great view, we could hear Fantasmic at night and see the few overhead fireworks from the show.

Walk: we were pretty close to the elevators (this hotel is BIG) and the elevators brought you right down to the pool/Boardwalk. NICE walk to Epcot (great during food/wine), good walk to HS...bakery was right there and when the kids went to bed I went down for a treat each night...(mom stayed in the room)

Room condition: we were in a remodeled room, fresh paint and tile...new bedspread...clean, very nice!

Busses: busses to AK and MK were okay, to MK we also stopped at swan and dolphin, back we were the first stop (although I was told this isn't alway the case...it was while I was there) AK no stops on the way there and on the way back Swan was the first stop, so we got of and walked from there.

Please ask any questions, I couldn't have been more pleased with our stay!!

Thanks for the note Carrie. We'll be there in February and I love hearing from anyone who has stayed there.

1. Did you use the pool area?
2. How do the entrances work? By that I mean, how do you get into the villas from the Boardwalk vs. the main entrance around back? Are there multiple ways in?
3. What was your mom's opinion of the pull-out?
4. Did you use the kitchen? If so, any comments about the supplies, etc.

Thanks again,

Sharadoc

We have stayed at the BWV for years and love it. As far as entrances, you can enter by the slide pool, or up the back steps into the lobby. We also make use of the many side doors that lead to the walkway to the Studios or come out by the pools. We rarely use the elevators and take the stairs since they lead you out without any problem. We were in a renovated room in Aug. and our son used the new sleepsofa and said they are very comfortable. They have extra thick mattresses so they are more like a bed.
We were in a 2 bedroom so one side is what you will have for a one bedroom and the kitchen is really well equipped. The appliances in our villa were all new due to the remodel. If you rent through Disney and not DVC you will have daily housekeeping and they will actually load the dishwasher for you. It is really nice to have a washer/dryer in the room and we even got a box of tide each day. You will also enjoy the way the bathroom is set up in the one bedroom since you will have one room with the shower, toilet and a sink and then another room with a full vanity and jacuzzi tub. There is also a big walk-in closet to store you luggage and that is where the safe is. You will love it there.

I'm pleased to hear that you had a wonderful stay at BWV, and were in a newly renovated room. This is our DVC "home resort" and love it dearly. We'll be there next week with our grandson for his very first Disney visit..

Thanks again,
1. We used the pool area 4 times during our stay my kids 4 and 2 really enjoyed it, the 4 year old was able to use the slide...I had to catch him at the bottom, but they allow life jacket/vests and swimmies too.

2. You enter through the main entrance (for bus pick-up and drop off) and depending on where your room is, that would be the entrance to use, the lobby is on the 2nd floor. If you didn't need the elevators...there are various alternative entrances, i felt the easiest for us was the main entrance. We used the elevators...as I had a double stroller...
...from the boardwalk it was SO easy as the elevators were right near the entrance on the 1st floor.

3. My mom (and mother-in-law, they split the stay) used the pull out and neither one said that it was too bad, my MIL would have complained if she hadn't liked it...

4. We used the kitchen a lot, breakfast every morning (pancakes and waffles), and a few pasta dinners. They had all the supplies I needed there, even tupperware and a peeler.

Was SO great!! Enjoy your trip!!!

Sorry if this is a dumb question...but we will be arriving Saturday! We are staying at BWV (rented points). Is there one central check in location for BWV and BWI?

Thanks!

There is one check-in for both the Villas side and the Inn side. As for the filters they do provide thme but if your using a DVC membership you need to bring some along with some extra coffee, they only provide it for you your first pot, on the Inn side they provide it each day.

If you are staying in the villas with a cash reservation you will get coffee everyday. They leave it when they clean the rooms. If your are staying on DVC points you don't get it each day.

Depends, are you renting from another DVC member? Or did you book through Disney?

Your post brings back memeories. We stayed at BWV when my kids were that age - such a wonderful trip! My kids loved the clown pool. I also remember watching the Fireworks from the balcony in our room.

I'm glad you had a good time.
