Coming for a 1st visit

Let me introduce myself! I'm Tracy and my family and I will be going to London and Paris for a 2 week vacation. We live in California, not far from DLR, and we visit a there a lot (In fact my 2 teens are there right now!).

We will be in Paris for a week, from 26 Oct. to 2 Nov. and we are thinking that we will make a day trip out to DLP. We are renting an apartment in Paris and will not be staying at a Disney property. It's a first trip to Europe for my kids and a first trip in 18 years for dh and myself, so we want to do and see as much as we can, which is why we're thinking that one day at DLP will be all we'll want to spare.

I have a number of questions and I'd be grateful for any help someone can provide!

Any suggestions as to which would be the best day of the week to go? Both Mondays are out as those are our travel days, but any others are fair game! I think I read that there are school holidays while we are there so it may be crowded, but are there likely to be one or two days that would be better?

What about tickets? Is it less expensive to buy them in advance, or should we just buy them at the gate?

What about transportation to the park from the city? Our apartment is in the 10th arrondissement. I assume we need to take a train, so what is the best travel time?

Last, any words of wisdom as to what is not to be missed if we only have one day?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Tracy!

I'm afraid that I can't help much but there are lots of useful bits on the the Very Useful Information Sticky which should answer most of your questions. You will find links to info about trains in France, opening hours, park ticket prices, etc!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1017065

It is our half term the week that you mention so the parks may well be busier than usual. We went in Setptember and found the Friday was noticeably busier that Tuesday-Thursday if that helps! I think the weekends are usually busier.

I think that one day isn't enough time to do everything in both parks but if you decide on your must-do's then you should certainly be able to fit them in. There is a great book called the Brits Guide which has some good reviews on the different rides in each land and if you go to the Disneyland Paris website then it suggests itineraries and rides for different age groups. There are also some video clips of the rides & shows.

How old are your children?

Happy planning
