How early to hit WPE for supper to beat the crowds?

We'll have the free quick service dining plan the next time we visit WDW. We'd like to use it at Wolfgang Puck Express for supper as many times as we can squeeze into our schedule as it is our favorite of all the counter service restaurants.

How early would we need to be at Downtown Disney to miss the main supper crowds? I remember long lines and difficulty finding a table the last time we were at WPE but that was years ago and I don't remember what time of day it was.

Is "supper" the same as dinner? Our 3 meals a day are breakfast, lunch and dinner. Trying to understand your question so I can be helpful in answering. I think they mean they might refer to the same meal, but I want to be sure.

Yes. I actually call the evening meal dinner too. However, I know folks who call the midday meal dinner and have supper in the evening. I thought I was being clearer to call the meal supper. Ha!

Thank you! We will aim for 5 pm. This should work well with a light breakfast followed by an early lunch.
