Help with AKL room requests

We are going to WDW for the first time in December, staying at AKL. We'll have two rooms, one for my FIL/MIL and one for our family of 5--a 6 yo, 3.5 yo, and 9 mo. We'll have two strollers. All four adults are very mobile.

We've paid for standard rooms.

Okay. My main concern is getting two rooms close together (easy enough to request). They don't have to be connecting.

I'd also love to have bunk beds in our room, but I can't tell if there are bunks in any standard view rooms. I'd hate to request something that we haven't paid for, kwim? Does anyone know if any standard view rooms have bunk beds, or is that considered an upgrade?

Also, considering we aren't savannah view, where in the buildings should we request? Close to the lobby? Is that noisy? I'd like convenient but not if we have to give up peace and quiet to get it. Are some floors perferable to others? Are there public viewing areas in the hallways, etc that we could request to be close to so that we could still see animals fairly conveniently?

Should I just scrap it all and pay for the upgraded savannah room?

Help!

How about a Pool View Room? The view is lovely (check out the Resort Photos Thread) and it's only about $10 ish more dollars than a Standard View Room. That way you are guaranteed a nice view...no chance of a parking lot!

I don't think Standard rooms have bunk beds. I know that the pool view rooms with queen beds are about $10 more than standard, but with bunk beds the pool views are about $30 more. So it appears that bunk beds are an option you pay for.

That being said, we loved our Zebra Trail pool view room.
