Late Oct or early Nov 2010 - HELP!
We've got a big family trip planned for Oct or Nov 2010, staying in a 2-BR unit at AKV on our DVC points. We are having trouble deciding on a date. Some of us want to go the last week in October (Oct 27-3 Nov) to see the Halloween decorations. Some of us want the first week in Nov (Nov 2-9 or 3-10). We're thinking the week before Halloween will be very crowded. But isn't the first week of November Jersey Week?
We're traveling from mid-week to mid-week for cheaper airfare for family members traveling from the west coast. Any comments or suggestions? If we went the last week in Oct we could see Halloween decorations and probably catch some Christmas decorations being put up starting on the 1st or 2nd of Nov, right? Personally, the later the better for me, as we live in Northwest Florida and hurricane season runs through the end of October. It might also be a degree or two cooler in early November, which is more to my liking. Any input from those of you who normally travel during that time of year? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. |

I think hurricane season actually runs until Dec 1.
I would probably go with the later November dates for the fact that it will (hopefully) be cooler weather. I would also consider if the different dates have different point values and maybe go with the one that costs fewer points.

Thanks for the replies and the link. Hurricane season does indeed run through the end of November. My oops.
I wonder if the economy will keep the crowds down during Jersey Week. I think we'll take that chance and schedule Nov 2-9th. |
