Please tell me what you think
Here are two shirts I made for Halloween and my upcoming trip to WDW.
They are made with ElWire a battery operated wire that lights up when powered up. I have some other projects if your guys would like to see them. sorry if they are a little fuzzy low light and using my IPhone to take pictures. ElWire is not hard to work with just a slow process. Thats about 8 hrs work with Mal. I made her for my sister. I posted this once before but the pics did not show up. |

The getting place
I shop on line with Cool neon in Ca.
http://www.coolneon.com/ They don't call it ElWire but its the same thing. Mostly you see things use for Computer case mods and cars. But its works well on cloth too. I used hot glue on the spider web and super glue on Mal. I will take some nice shots of a jacket I did with Jack Skellington. Check back and I should have it up. Thanks for the thumbs up |

I think these are just great! How do you get all the different colors to light up? Is the inside of the shirt filled with little wires? If you could let me know I would love to do one of these for my kids upcoming trip in December but I am not sure where to start

short how to
Quote:
Next they are plastic and come in different sizes and colors. each line has two very small wires that you can soder together with other sizes and colors. I used glue to attach them to the shirts and under the shirt you have very small wire that runs to a driver. A driver is a small box about the size of 2 9 volt batteries. depending on how long the lenght of wire decides how large the driver is. The biggest I use is about the size of 3 p volts. The spider web is a lot of light. The driver can be on your belt or in a pocket. If your line is only 5' the driver is very small. I have never used a sodering iron before I started this project. Its not hard at all. The wire can be expensive its over a dollar a foot. if this did not scare you off let me know if you want to know more. I am off starting Tue for 4 days and I will post the other pictures. |
