Tell me about DHS characters at Park entrance... - The DIS Discussion Forums

We're taking two 9 year old boys in October and we think they'd enjoy Darth Vader and Star Wars. What and when does it mean...do these characters open up the park or are they just always there. Also, tell me if the boys would enjoy the Star Wars Tour or Jedi Training Academy. Thanks

Only during Star Wars Weekend, will you see Star Wars characters (the Stormtroopers do a show to open the park at the entrance). The rest of the year, you will not find Star Wars characters as far as I know.

I think Darth Vader used to be around once in a while, but we've never seen him.

Jedi Training Academy is open all year round, though - it is a show in which they pick kids from the audience to learn how to become Jedis and learn to battle with light sabres. They usually pick kids between around 5-10, but they don't pick many - maybe a dozen-15 at each show.

I'm sure your boys would like Star Tours.

The previous Poster is correct.It is usually only during Star Wars Weekends in June that the Star wars stormtroopers etc are out at the front gate

daily you can find star wars characters outside the star tours enterance. Like most characters they only appear for limited times and the line forms quickly.

Just got back form a great trip! My boys favorite park was DHS especially because of Star Wars. My DS (4) got picked for Jedi Training. It was great! He loved it and talks about it daily! They have the Jedi Training about 8 times a day. It is right outside the StarWars ride. Be sure to get there at least 20 min. before the shows start so you'll be in front for when they pick kids. It gets a little crazy because people come right before the show starts and push their kids right up to the front. The pictures I got from this event our priceless!
