Costume making help .. where to find red blinking lights?
DS3 loves trains ... so for something a little different this halloween he is going to dress up as a railroad crossing sign. He was Thomas the tank engine last year, so we don't want to do that one again. He'll have the white crossing sign on his chest, one red and white striped sleeve, and blinking red lights at his hips, put onto a belt. Any ideas of where to find round red blinking lights that are battery operated? Or just round white lights that I can put red bulbs into?
Thanks for any help!

Have you tried a bike shop or the sports sections of Target or Walmart?

Much as I hate to support companies that put out Christmas stuff before Halloween, there are battery operated Christmas lights. When I was in HS the band used to wrap them around their horns for basketball pep band.

Maybe the party stores. You could get the red glow cubes, and attach those. Either that or the red glow sticks.

Have you looked at Oriental Trading? Or maybe the light that fits inside a jack-o-lantern I think I have seen battery operated ones.

I *love* this costume idea and may have to borrow it for my signal-loving 3yo. Here are the flashing lights that came to mind for it:
http://glowproducts.com/batteryopera...esafetylights/ It looks like you have to order in quantity; I'm not sure how much the shipping is. But I think that it is perfect for this costume! I think it was Kmart we found lighted red lights for grandsons electric car. They were in the bike section.
Grandson was Thomas Last year, this year he is wearing his engineer hat, an Osh Gosh, coveralls, and naugahide boots, red hankerchief neck scarf. So he is thrilled to be an Engineer, Di |

If you know anyone in the military they can get you one at mcss, it's a red circle that blinks for the pt belts. Or a halloween store should have something.
