have you stayed 2nd floor(no balcony) at the Poly?

I really like the views from the upper floors better than a patio, but I was wondering what it's like without a patio/balcony to relax on? Can you still see out fairly well? Can you pull a chair from the inside to sit by the door and look out? Did you feel like you missed out by not having a balcony? Anyone have a picture from the inside looking out? TIA if you can help!

We had a second floor room in Hawaii August 2008. We didn't miss the balcony. We were able to slide the doors open to look out and get some fresh air, there's just no balcony. We loved sitting out on the beach in front of the Hawaii building in one of the swings.

In January 2008, we had a balcony when we were in the Tahiti building. It was nice, but we never sat on the balcony. We were eithr in the parks or in the room resting.

Why not request a building that has second floor balconies?

Check the new Poly FAQ - I just posted a photo last night of the building with the 2nd floor/no balcony shown from the outside. From the inside, it really looks just like a regular view from the 3rd floor that has a balcony.

We stayed 2nd floor Hawaii last Dec. I was originally upset with no balcony but it was just fine. View was wonderful. If we were to stay in Hawaii again I would request the second floor. It is the same floor as the lounge and so very convenient!

2nd floor

We stayed at the poly in jan and sept with both on the 2nd floor. it was nice not to have a balcony due to having children. We open the slide door for fresh air. We also were at the parks, pool, and the beach most of the time.

Thanks for your replies (and pics Vicki c)! I will be staying CL so I will be in Hawaii longhouse. I've posted a few questions on these boards and feel like I'll be happy with any floor...especially with the second floor because it's on the same floor as the lounge! I'm hoping for a great castle view on any floor...crossing my fingers!

We have stayed second floor many times and it did not bother us at all. You have the same size slding doors, you just don't have the outside seating area, and it always seemed when we did, it was occupied by birds all the time anyway.
