If you've stayed lagoon view CL in the Hawaii longhouse at Poly...
I was looking for some info/pictures of the view from the different floors of Hawaii. I would prefer a balcony on the third floor, but I'm sure that's what a lot of people request so I want to prepare myself if I end up on another floor. A patio would be nice to sit on, but are the views as nice and clear of the castle/fireworks/EWP as they are on the upper floors? And the second floor, I was curious what it's like to not have a balcony? Do you still get a nice experience watching the fireworks and can you still see the castle from inside your room, or does that bar block your view? If you have a small child (I think DS is probably 41") will they be able to see out the sliding doors?
Are there any bad lagoon views in Hawaii to avoid if they tell you the room # upon checkin? I think what's most important to me is a good view. If I were to make a request on my ressie, would it be silly to note "best view possible"? I've stayed at the Poly before, GV, and we had a terrible view of vegetation. I guess it was better than a parking lot, but this time I want to be sure to see the castle at night |

We've stayed in Hawaii twice - both times with a theme park/MK view. I requested first floor, close to the lobby and we got 1501 and 1503 (if you check the Poly FAQ that photo I posted of the outside of the Hawaii building shows our rooms on the 1st floor - the 1st room on the end with the bushes in front and the 3rd room).
We really like the patio rooms - we feel that it makes our room seem bigger somehow. Our views were pretty good - a little blocked in some cases by the palm trees on the beach, but we had a clear view of the castle and the fireworks. 1503 was better than 1501. That said, I definitely would not request a particular room #, but the features of what you want. One advantage to the patio room is that you can walk right out your door to the beach and watch the fireworks. I also think that possibly in 3501 (3rd floor), the view might have been partially blocked by the top of a palm tree that was right outside our room - but I didn't stay in that room, so can't say for sure. Here are some views from the room/patio of 1501: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And here are some views from 1503: ![]() this was actually taken with my phone, THROUGH the sliding glass door, so not the best quality (I hopped out of bed to take the photo - we were already sleeping!) ![]()

Here is a picture I took in December 2007 of the Contemporary from room #3510, which is on the 3rd floor.

I was in 1501 last September---I actually liked the bushes there by the patio, because we had a great view, but it still seemed so very private, with all the people walking by.

This is several years old (from 2001 I think), but this is the view of the castle from our patio in first floor room 1512:
