On board check-in question

Hi Everyone!

We are a family of 5 booked in a Cat 3. In order to use the online booking service, do we have to use the Disney Bus or does Disney allow concierge guests to use this (perk).

Alternatively, I was thinking of booking a one-way Disney transfer for myself only so that our bags (only 2 to be checked in) would go directly to the airport but not physically use the Disney bus. I would just go back to the airport with my family on our rental car when my flight leaves at 6:30pm. Would this work?

Thanks!

You have to book DCL transfers from the port to MCO to use the onboard checkin service. I do not believe that DCL will transport your luggage to the airport if you do not actually use the DCL transfers.

Don't know how they would know if you don't actually get on a bus. They check you off the list as you exit the ship (before you head downstairs). They would check both pieces of luggage under the single name. So you may have to pay extra baggage fees depending on what your airline charges for first/second bags. That is also done before you head downstairs. Once you head down to customs, no one checks who is heading in which direction, they just have people pointing you in the direction you tell them you are heading.

So if it is worth the extra baggage fee and the transfer fee to you to get rid of your luggage, I think you could do it.
