is Wilderness Lodge similar to Great Wolf Lodge & other room questions

This may be a stupid question but is the setup similar to Great Wolf Lodge? Im trying to understand the setup of the rooms can someone explain. Do some of these rooms overlook the lobby area and are there a bunch of rooms in the middle that would overlook the area? I read some people say they had a view of the fountains so Im a bit confused. Is there an inside view in addition to a balcony which offers another view???

Can you suggest some floors or room #s which you have gotten in the past that you were happy with. Is it best to be on a 1st floor or higher up?? We have just booked a standard room so i dont know if i should request anything. I have also heard people mention MK or fireworks views, did you get these paying for the regular standard room?

This may give you an idea of what the rooms overlook and the types of views from Courtyard views and Woodsviews.

The rooms that are above the Lobby do not over look the interior of the lobby that is where the enterance to your room is.

Tami..

I stayed in WL in 2006.. we were on the 6ht floor with a rom of the courtyard and we loved it! I would say staying on the higher floors is better especially if you have a courtyard view! We never saw any firewroks but could view the water parade from our room balcony!

I'm also wondering if I should request a certain floor or section of WL...I have a woods view room booked. Is there a good map with sections of the Lodge anywhere? I keep seeing people say to request the North Wing, but I don't even know what that is, I can't find it on any map! I wouldn't even know what to request if I do make a request!

Nermel...

here is a link to the lodge map on WDWINFO...

http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/wildlodge.htm

My room location on my last trip was near where you see the number 11...

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I beleive the "North Wing" is there side closer to the boat dock (where the number 10 is). For me I never went by the "wings" i always just shot for the courtyard view over the main pool with a view of the gyser... just my choice though
