odd~2 ppl can't get boarding passes (SWA)?

when i went to check DH & myself in for tomorrow's flight (hoping i'm better by then, had surgery last week & was up in horrible pain all night ), we both received a "security document" stating that we are not checkin in, & proceed to gate for boarding pass.
i know sometimes a person is picked for additional screening, but two? (we've never had a problem checking in on-line before).

this is so weird....

I would call SW. It sounds like the flight might be overbooked. Usually if it's a security issue you have to get a boarding pass at the counter. Did you check-in at 24 hours? Does the document you have say ssss on it?

One of my children is not eligible for on-line check-in. Something to do with his name. This has happened since he was around 2, he is now 6.

Whenever we go to get his boarding pass at the counter the agents always laugh when they see him. We've never had any problems. Hope this helps.

I have identical twin nieces - one can not do online check-in - this started when they were 7 - now 11 -(obviously the word is out about which is the "evil twin"!!!!).

This frequently happens to me when I try to do the online check-in for the originating flight - never for the return home flight, and never for the rest of my family. They always try to tell me the computer does random picks for this - wish my luck was just as good with the computer that picks the winning lottery numbers!

I think this is one thing the new TSA security requirements are trying to clean up. If you have a Rapid Rewards number, SWA has been sending out emails to update your account. TSA is now requiring that the airlines provide the complete legal name of their passengers as shown on official government issued ID, i.e. driver's licenses and passports.
