Best moderate for mother daughter trip
I'm planning a trip as a special birthday present for my 9 year old daughter. We were thinking about staying at Pop in a preferred room, but when I noticed that the price difference is only about $15 per night (AP rate) I thought it might be nice to upgrade. I want to stay in a moderate but am having trouble deciding which one would be best for us. I'd like a resort that has a nice sit down and counter service restauraunt, is not too spread out (I could get lost in a cardboard box
) and has nice disney theming. What do you think??

The only one that I could think of that is not too spread out is POFQ. I do have to say that I have stayed at POR and LOVED it! It is a little spread out though. I am also planning a mother/daughter trip for next year. We are thinking of trying the Caribbean Beach resort. It has some really neat theming. Good luck deciding!

POFQ is the only mod that is not large and spread out. BUT - they have no sit-down restaurant. You could always stay at POFQ and walk or take the ferry over to POR for dinner at Boatwright's. It's a lovely walk along the "river" that only takes about 10 minutes. Happy planning!

I voted for Coronado Springs before I read your original post, I just did a mother/daughter trip with my two DDs 12 and 7. It was wonderful and we really liked it. But after reading your post, I would say POFQ too. Not as spread out, great access to DTD and good Disney theming.
I would go to DTD for good sit-down and CS meals rather than at the resort other than the beignets which are the yummiest! Good luck deciding! |

Since you don't want a resort that's spread out it's probably your best bet to go with POFQ although the CS food court is way better at POR and POFQ also doesn't have a TS restaurant but POR does.

My daughter and I love the CSR. The new rooms are very nice and my daughter loves the Dig Site Pool.

POFQ is the most compact, but no TSR. But the boats go to POR and to DTD. It's super easy and very pretty to ride the boat
down to DTD for a sit down meal and lots of shopping. I like the New Orleans french quarter vibe as well. CBR has a TSR and good food court plus a decent sized shop and great main pool plus quiet pools in each of the 'islands.' It's spread out, but the grounds are beautiful to walk through. You can ask to be in one of the islands close to the main pool/food court and it won't feel so spread out. After a day or two you usually get the 'lay of the land' even in the further away islands. The tropical vibe and calypso music @ the main pool area always make me feel like I'm in the bahamas. I haven't stayed @ the others, but think you'd love either POFQ or CBR. |

Personally, I think your daughter would be more excited about CBR. The new pirate pool is very cool from a kid's view point. You could pay for a preferred room which would place you closer to the dining area, so it wouldn't seem as far. Ahh, so many choices - have fun deciding!
