Our Incredible Family Vacation

We are back! We had a great time and I am finally starting my trip report. For those of you who do not know me, I am the oldest of 3 girls, I'm homeschooled, and I love Disney World. Here is a picture of our grand gathering.

Now that I have told you about me....

Ladies and Gentlemen, without further delay, Our Incredible Family Vaction 2009!

We left on a Thursday morning and began the drive down. After a stop in Valdosta, we made it to Orlando. We spent the night in a motel but the next morning....


It's coming....



It's here!!!!

Our hotel was awesome! It was so beautiful! Here are some pictures of the lobby.







There was an incredibly long line to check in so my sisters and I went to the gift shop.




These birds were everywhere!


We got a call that our rooma was ready.


Our room was great it wasn't to far from the lobby, food court, or our car. It also faced inward so we had a nice view.

Woohoo- I'm #1!! Thanks for sharing your trip with us - now on to some serious reading (I subscribed before reading ).

(ok I cheated and am now editing this - great pics! Don't you just love it when you are driving under that WDW sign? It gives me goosebumps every time! )

Oh Katie, Seeing your pictures makes me wish we were there all over again! It truly was an incredible trip (despite our little burp in the road). You are off to a great start!

Can I share my favorite memories Katie?

1) The Mad Hatter was a hoot. I loved how he would stare you down and then just scream. He claimed to have made Greg's hat!

2) Our Ellie badges. Yes. I love them. It was so much fun meeting others with the same passion for the movie. It was really awesome when we would meet a cast member that said - HEY! another group was here yesterday wearing Ellie badges! (Yes, that was our Grand Gathering!)

3) Meeting Carl, Kevin and Dug. Yes, I stopped and stared and stared. Amazed at how in character they were for the character pictures.

4) Brown Derby. OK, the grapefruit cake is overrated - but it is unique. What a wonderful meal that was. We were almost by ourselves in a side room - so quiet and peaceful.

5) American Idol - that was a surprise. It was a blast!

6) That witch we met at animation station - mirror mirror on the wall . . . she is the meanest of them all. She was beautiful though.

7) Tye Dyed Cheesecake. Surprisingly - really really good. So much better than the one I made!

8) Greg finally meets Tinker Bell.

9) Nemo Musical, Push the Trash Can, Prince Charming, Picnic at AK

10) Air conditioning. It was hot.

Our first night at Disney - Happily Ever After Dinner at The GF.

Wait a minute, which one is the Mad Hatter? They both look a bit loopy to me! Wow MinnieBethany, your pictures are priceless. I especially love the dressy pictures from Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner. Technically, Katie hasn't shared her report for Day 2, but your pictures are a great teaser. My Incredigirl spent most of her weekend working on her first ever WDW Slideshow, Biology, Slideshow, housework, Slideshow, Sleepover and Slideshow. Her completed slideshow is a work of art. Hopefully, following her biology test tomorrow, she'll be able to update this report.

After a long weekend, I have found time to post again!
After settling in we decided to check out the food court.





It was decorated to look like an old mill. The mill actually turned and on the inside, gears were moving. Hear are some pics of the food!


This is a pic of the make your own pasta. The guy made it right in front of you. When he put it in the box it didn't look like a a whole lot, but it was enough for my Dad, Mom, and Lib.



This is a pic of the make your own salad. It was also made in front of you. Chis and I shared it and it was very good! We all got the cookie bar for dessert, it was also very good.

We spent most of the day swimming before getting ready for our dinner at the Grand Floridian. I love the look of the Grand Floridian. We had a bit of a wait so Ms. B. took pics of us around the hotel (she posted some in an earlier post). Earlier in the trip my Mom had decided to be more assertive about seating. Last year, we often got put in the back due to our large number. Even though we had a bit of a longer wait, it was worth it for the table. We were put right in the middle and very close to the buffet.

My sister was celebrating her birthday so the waitress brought here a cupcake and all of the people celebrating birthdays were invited to stand up and we applauded them.

That really was a fun way to begin our trip! I loved meeting Cinderella's silly stepsisters and mean stepmother. The food was delicious but everything seemed like a whirlwind. Everytime we got up to get food, they announced another character. I enjoyed walking around the Grand Floridian at night.
