AAA price differences

why would AAA pricing be different for the same time frame for different hotels in the same category? i.e. why would ASMu be less than Pop or ASMo? or why would POR be less than POFQ? If they are priced out on WDW website, they are the same price.

Maybe there are no more AAA Discounted rooms available at those resorts for the dates you're looking at?

Yes Vicki is right, Disney only allots a set number of rooms for AAA rates, once they are booked they are done.

And once the block of AAA rooms is sold, they will continue to show availability at rack rate so long as there are open rooms.

Did you check with a travel agent. My room rate was the same for all the value and moderate resorts when I checked, for the time I go. However, it changed for the deluxes because each hotel are different prices.

AAA prices are based on a % off of a room and the % off , depends on the season it is. Now where it gets tricky is that some hotels will for example consider it peak and others may consider it regular season during the same dates(which makes no sense to me).

I don't know if that helps you.

thanks - but this was value to value/ mod to mod for same time frame using the AAA website. It just seems like when I have checked in the past, the prices were the same comparing like to like.

Room type? Standard vs. Preferred at the Values, Water View vs. King vs. (sometimes) Preferred at the Moderates?

No, it's either rack rate or AAA rate-- there's no variance.

You're not comparing apples to apples-- not the same room type, etc.

I don't think you are understanding what I was asking....it is the SAME room type....standard view.....ASMo is about $10 less than ASMu and POP. My question was why this would be. It's the same room type/same category of hotel. The best answer has been that there must be extra rooms at one hotel vs. another to offer at a less price. I went back into the AAA website to specifically look to make sure I was comparing like to like. If you are a AAA member you can do the same.

I would call the AAA agent because my room rates were the same comparing the "like to like", sometimes the websites don't seem right.

Well, without knowing your dates, we can't replicate your results. The random dates I chose - in January - show all four Value resorts starting at $73.80. When you select one, there are actually four possible prices - that, the $82 rack rate for standard location, the discounted rate for preferred location, and the rack rate for preferred location.

Without knowing your exact amounts, we can't explain specifically why you got the results you did - but it's likely because there aren't any AAA discount rates available at some of the properties you investigated on the nights you wish to stay there.

Is it a significant difference? I have noticed that the new prices for 2010 are different for each hotel. OK I am not sure about EACH, but I do know from when I booked that CSR for example was a higher price than some of the other moderates. Maybe this is the cause?
