On Tuesday, my friend's stepdad was told that his cancer has spread and that his treatment will be stopped as he's now terminal. My lovely friend spoke to his doctor and she has gone and booked a weeks cruise for the family. The doctor and the cruise doctor have contacted oneanother and are both happy for him to go.
This has given her dad such a boost and he's going out for little walks everyday inbetween crying because he has such a lovely family.
The cruise is in 4 weeks time so please keep your fingers crossed that he'll be well enough to go.
I feel really lucky to have such a lovely thoughtful friend.

what a great thing to do, my dad has terminal cancer and we all clubbed together to send him and my mum to Australia to see my brother.
Hope he manages to go on the cruise and have a great time.xxx

I know he'll have lots of fun and really enjoy it. My parents went on a cruise last November and my dad sadly passed away in May of this year from cancer.

My dad found the trips hard going but he did quite alot of them and lots of photos were taken, which my mum now treasures.

Have they all have lots of fun and just ignore the cancer as much as possible as they can look back and know that he really did have a special time with them.

Thankyou everyone for your support. I am just so proud of my friend because I know she's struggling coming to terms with this. She intends to take lots of photos and give the whole family lots of wonderful memories.

The cruise is around the med so they're not too far away should her stepdad become poorly and he can pop back to his cabin whenever he needs to and eat when he feels like it. The grandchildren will provide plenty of entertainment!

Well the cruise never took place as in the end the insurers decided that they wouldn't take the risk.
Not to be outdone, my friend booked the whole family into a luxury spa hotel in Guernsey for 2 nights as it was only a 15 min flight from home.
They were due to go last Sunday but sadly her stepdad passed away last Sat evening with all his family and friends near him.
I am so proud of my friend fighting for him right to the end. Wish I was over there to give her a big hug but my new job starts Monday.
