I'm Engaged!!!!!! need advice now especially from UK brides
Well after over 6 years of waiting he finally asked and he did it in the most wonderful place possible!!!
He did it in the rose garden at the magic kingdom in front of the castle. We were also lucky enough to have a photopass photographer there to capture the moment! The ring is a princess cut tiffany ring so feel really spoilt! After he asked we watched spectro and wishes which was really special! Now the trouble is trying to decide what kind of wedding to have. I know I want a small wedding- just family. I would really love a disney wedding but wondering if its a lot to ask for my guests to come all that way?? So UK brides did your guests stay for two weeks and make it their holiday or did they stay for less. Did you help them with adr's or let them make their own plans? did you have meals together??? http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/scared07.gif |

Congratulations on your engagement!
![]() We're still very much in the planning stages of our wedding so we're not too far ahead of you yet! We have gone back and forth with regard to location, but we have eventually decided that our wedding day is OUR wedding day. Yes, we would love family to come and so they are invited, but with the understanding that if they cannot make it, then we would understand. My guests are staying for varied lengths or time from days to weeks. Some of our guests are using it as their vacation and jetting off to another location after a few days. We are letting our guests make their own plans but with our help, I've advised on places, prices, the vacation points rental system etc.. Regarding meal arrangements, the first few days we are there we plan on hanging out with our guests, however after the wedding we have decided it will be honeymoon time. We have made our guests aware of this and they are all very understanding. I say, it's your day, spend it as you will!!

We have just 6 guests (2 Mums, 2 Dads, 1 Step Dad, 1 brother) coming. My Dad is just coming for 5 nights, don't know what DFs brother is doing yet and then both our parents are coming for a week then going on cruises.
I have booked ADRs for us all on the days around the wedding and planned activities for us all to do together as we are a small group and the idea is that we are all there together but everyone is different and many brides just leave there guests to do what they want.

Congratulations! That is such a romantic place to propose, and your ring sounds beautiful!
We had my mum and dad, my brother, SIL and their two children in the end. My other brother and SIL were due to come with their son as well, but my SIL got pregnant in January so they weren't able to come in the end. DH's mum and dad are a whole other story (sent a TEXT MESSAGE on Saturday and said they weren't able to make it to our at home reception - which was three and a half hours after the text! Sorry, not happy with them )My mum and dad stayed for three weeks, while my brother and SIL did two - hope that helps

congratulations!
We've got my parents coming who are staying for two weeks and we are spending the majority of our time with them. They are our best friends as well as parents so we are really looking forward to showing them around ![]() My best friend is going for the week of our wedding with her Mom as support. She has health issues right now and has mobility problems so I am really glad her Mom is coming too. They are old Disney hands so know the ropes (my friend worked at epcot for a year) and are treating the week as R&R. Our joint best friend is going for the week of the wedding as he can't get any more time from work. He went to Orlando about 15 years ago so we plan to spend the days we aren't with Mom and Dad with him. We've then got 10 days to ourselves. We did invite other friends but due to the current economy they can't come. It has worked out really well for us because we are using the money we had originally budgeted for 12 people to do something special for the people who are going. We have a welcome dinner booked for the night before the wedding (which people are paying for themselves), reception at the Grand Floridian which we are paying for and then a meal booked at the Yachtsman on the night which we are not paying for. My best friend and her mom have free dining so they will use their points for the wedding night meal. We have lied to my mom and dad and told them that all meals they have with us when we are staying onsite are covered with a special points dining scheme with have booked through disney! they are retired so we are trying to pay for as much for them as we can, but my Father has other ideas. This was the only way we could get away with paying for things for them! Have fun planning and ask away if you have any queries
