Where should I watch the DCA parade given its new route?

WDW vet, DL newbie - Leaving saturday for my solo trip - want to watch the DCA parade and get some good pics - I THINK I know that the route starts at the sunshine plaza goes up to before golde dreams and then turns around now (is that correct? - if not, what is the route?)

Assuming I will be watching on a wkd, where are the best spots to watch the parade at and how far in advance should I get there? (my thought right now would be closest in the sunshine area to soarin so I can make a dash for the single rider line after the parade)

thanks for the help!

It goes from Sunshine Plaza to the Mission Tortilla Factory. We got great seats across from Engineers Toy Shop in Sunshine Plaza.

It doesn't really matter where you are since the parade doesn't stop to do performances like the one in DL. I'd say somewhere in the beginning so you can go run off, like you said, after the parade passes.

We got there to our spot about 30 minutes prior to start time and got front row seats. That was last Friday (the first night of Halloween at DL, so maybe all the patrons were at DL.) If this past week was any indication, I don't think DCA will be busy at all.
