HI and to my trip report

My trip was from Sept 5th thur Sept 18th, staying at Pop century from Sept 10th thur Sept 18th

The cast of this trip is my DH, my DD#1 and my grandson. and me

My DH (Dave) is my best friend, he has worked as a mechanic for over 30 years, we just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary, he enjoys our WDW trips and is proud of the money I save.

My DD#1(Corri) is a beautiful young lady who worked very hard to do the right thing, She is a wonderful mother and is looking forward to riding the rides this time as she was 6 1/2 months PG when we went in 2006, her favorite character is The little green alien from Toy story.

My GS( Landen) is 2 1/2 and has been raised on MIckey Mouse, He is very smart( of course) he thinks the castle is Mickey House. He loves the Cars movie and Walle and just got into Peter Pan.

ME I'm 54 . I work as a one hour photo tech and cashier for a local drug store chain. I LOVE all things Disney especially Mickey Mouse, I always wanted to go to WDW and was finally able to so in 2006, and thought that would be the only time an can't believe that i'm got go again.

All my reader need to be fair warmed that I am not the best speller so please bear with me.


when we 1st started planning this trip we where going to fly, but i could not find airfare I could afford, so we decided to drive which meant a rental car, we had planned to leave on Wed Sept 9th after work and drive straight thru but with Corri being out of work we decide to leave on Sat Sept 5th and spend some time at the beach and Sea World.

So let the trip begin

On Friday nite (9/6) we finished our packing. i had made autograph books for my GS an my friend Rosie's GS but when I check my packing I could not find the ones I had made for GS, I looked every where and torn the house apart, DH asked me where i had seen the last, I had taken them to work to show them to my friends I thought I brought them home DH took me to work and the where there
I had a hard time sleeping, I was SOO excited to get going on our trip.
We got up early and did our morning things and we where at DD house at 8:00a.m. DH and DD went to pick up the rental car, not quite sure what kind we where getting.
Corri used to work for Hertz and her old boss said she give her the best deal she couldI stayed with GS, he got a package from Mickey, with my pal mickey in it and a postcard saying," to fun at the beach and he see him "real soon" DD got back with the car it was Chevy Equinox ,silver in color, it was nice with lots of roomDave had to stop at our house to pick up my medicine, I have to take a shot for my bones every day and i had forgotten it in refrigerator. We stated to packed the car, we had 2 suitcases 1 rolling duffel bag, 1 duffle bag, 1 stoller, 1 cooler,1 box pull ups, bag of toys, bag of snakes,plus a few misc, things. we got it all but could not see out the back. Our #2 DD (Kylie) an SIL (Josh) stop to say goodbye, This make me sad as I had wanted the whole family to be able to go to WDW, but it was not possible at this time.
We let Corri house at 10:50 a.m. the GPS saying we will arrive at Pops at 2:06 a.m.

Crossed over in to west virginia at 1:25 pm . 137 miles from home. I feeling a little sick to my stomach
(car sick?) David is driving, we decide to stop at McDonald in Kamma WV went to drug store, got some pepto,hard candy,and dramamine, Feeling better since we ate. I 'msitting up front now, that seem to help the car sick. The mountains of WV are beautiful. Went thur 2 tunnels.Got gas $37.25, Corri s driving now crossed into Virginna at 4:30 p.m. Laden is being very good, watching DVD, and getting the idea of "car presents" Crossed into South carolina at about 8:00 p.m i seemed to have missed what time we crossed into North Carolina, It about 11:00 p.m.decideed to find a place to sleep. everyone is tired and Landen is sleeping stopped at a rest stop got a motel book, heading toward Orangeburg SC, found room, Southern lodge. $59.99 We did not take any thing out of car but pullup for Landen.

Not a very excited day BUT we are on our way and each mile gets us closer to Mickey house.
I having some problems getting my pictures to my computer, they are on CD and I can't get them to load up so I can get them to photo bucket so this time no pictures
I did take lots of Pictures2 chips full about 1600 pic and have 313 on my photo pass, before editing,

Thanks, He is a litlle cutie that for sure Just wait to you see the PP of him and Mickey.

Day #2

We got Up about 6:15 am and after a quick clean up we went to complientary breakfast provided by the hotel
They had a good varirty of things, including fresh cooked belgian waffels, that Landen and I shared.
We had not taken very much into the room only some things for Landen not much to pack up


We had one little problem the night before, Landen had fallen asleep about 930 p.m on the drive down, it was about 12:30 p.m, that we got the room. While I was resgisting for the room, he had woken up and was crying and confused. We thought that when we got settled in the room he would be O.K. in the room he Just kept crying and saying he wanted to go home, did not want to sleep there. We told him "we going to Mickey house" NO I want to go home he keep saying, he cried for about 45 mintues, It was the Loogest time. Finally he fell into a exhausted sleep in Corri arms. I thought to my self maybe this was not the best idea, maybe I had pushed this trip to much, and maybe it would have been better to waited until he was a little older.
But in to morning he was he usual happy self
We got some gas across the street from our hotel $32.75
On rode to FLORIDA at 6:50 a.m.
At 7:10 we on I-95 228 miles to St Augustine I did not realize that when we stopped we where that close to I-95
Crossed in to Georgia at 8:05 the red clay is very pretty here. We have seen constution but have not be delayed

Arrived in FLORDIA at 9:55 a.m.
Stopped at the Flordia Welcome Center, Where surprise to feel the heat as we got out the car at welcome center. it was a big change in temp from when we got in the car in South Carolina.
We got our free OJ and they also had free grapefruit juice, pick up some brochures on St, Augustine, Orlando, Sea World. And even got a time schedule for WDW also got motel guide for Florida.

Landen got a Sponge Bob ice creme, Thanks Poppa.
Headed to St Augustine, The day was so bright and sunny, it is so different from a sunny day in Ohio. everything so shinny and clean. the colors of the sky and tree sseem to be more vidid, Guess I was just soo excited to be that much closer to My friend Mickey

We check the motel guide and find these that we decide to check out, Anastasia Inn, St Augustine , Ocean Inn and Ocean Sands.
As we get to St Augustine and get on the main road we find there are lots of motel so we just drive trying to get some idea, explaining to Landen that we are looking for our house to stay at so he won't be upset tonite like last night, He ask if we can go to a playground we tell will try to find a house with a playground or if not we will take him to one. Corri tells him that there might be pool, and this makes him happy.

We drive over a BIG bridge, This is the brige that take you to the inter coastal highway, we find we actually in Vilano Beach an all along the road we can see the OCEAN and big beautiful beach homes, the GPS says weare close to Ocean Sands, so we just it out, $ 55.00 a night, they said it will be a while before a room will be ready so we said we get some lunch and be back, as we are driving we decide to pull off and check out the Ocean. (see the picture) there is hardy any one there. We drive a little farther and come to Vilano beach pier, there are some hotel/ motel here some big ones, but there this one older tourist hotel with the big pink flamgio painted on the buildings it was really cute, Corri and really liked it, so she went to get a price, but all full. after all it was labor day weekend, but we could get a room tommorrow, a room with a kitchen on Monday for $35.00.
We decide to go back to Ocean Sands and we get a room on the 2nd floor (remember this for day 4) the hotel is nice the is very clean and they have a nice pool and there is just a road betwen the hotel and beach /ocean.

We decide to go get lunch, Landen says he wants hot dogs, so we look on the GPS for fast food. hot dogs, and sure enought there a place call "Hot Digitty Dogs" in St, Augustine, so over the brige we go and we pass a park with a playgroung and a carsousal. and the hot dog place is near We follow the GPS direction and it say "arriving at destation" BUT we don't see and hot dog place
So we park at the 'Old jailhose' there are tour that leave here to show you St Augustine. and walk across the street to see if we can find the HOT DOG place, no one seem to have heard of it , But tell us of a different one and it just a few blocks away. so off we go, We get Hot doys and french fries with chesse. and go to playground for lunch. We tell Landen if he eats his lunch good he can play for awhile at the playground. we eat and play for awhile. when it time to leave I give Landen and Coori a $1 to ride the Merry go round. Landen waits and when it comes time to ride he cries that he does want too O.K. so now I REALLY worried that WDW is not going to be fun for him But David says don't worry it will be O"K' it wil work out Fine.
So we go check into our room. David and Corri bring ALL our stuff from the car up to our room. We try to organize it and Corri decide to take Landen swimming in the pool. They had a great time in the pool.
Time to get ready for dinner Tonite are meeting 2 of Corri friends tonite, she belongs to a group of working mothers who all had babies in Dec 2006, she meet on the internet. We will be meeting them at Saint Sebastian Winery.
We get to the winnery and the are having a free tastingSo we go to the tasting
Corri friends arrive, one has a boy and one a girl, there is resturant on top of the winery, wonderful brezze, and beautiful scenery. we have a nice time visting, the kids had fun playing together.
We head back to motel for a GOOD nite sleep. because we had not really sleep very much in the last two nites.
