Convert CS and TS to snacks?

How many snacks can we get for CS? for TS?
Where/how do we do that?
Can we do it as often as we want? For example, can we convert one TS to snacks on day 2 and then convert some CS to snacks on the last day as we see what we need?

3 snacks for each meal credit, it doesn't matter if its TS or CS, also one of the snacks that you buy has to be a drink.

Thanks! Do you have a link that outlines the details of this?

Much appreciated.

Disneywisher - how would that work that one of the snacks must be a drink? Don't they just take off the CS or TS and put the snacks on your account? Do they have a separate category for on your account for drinks vs other kinds of snacks?

Does anyone else have recent experience changing CS and TS for snacks?

I'm also hoping someone can answer how to make the exchange.

Last year I did the continental breakfast to use up some CS meals. I was able to get either 2 whole pieces of fruit or 2 bakery items and 2 drinks. I could also get one fruit and one bakery item and two drinks.

This isn't strictly a case of exchanging CS for snacks. We did the same thing at the Poly as we had extra CS credits as we arrived after lunch on our first day. For breakfast we were able to get 2 bakery items and a drink. These are all items we could have also purchased with a snack credit. They did not remove the CS credit and replace it with 3 snack credits.

I would ask at your concierge to see if something could be done for actual exchanging credits. It also doesn't seem to be a very fair exchange if they treat CS and TS credits the same.

Can it be done in reverse as well? If we have a lot of snack credits and/or CS credits left at the end, may we apply it toward TS?

You cannot trade up.

For those trying to trade cs or ts for snacks - there is no set formula as the ability to trade down is completely discretionary. You won't get more value from a ts as neither was designed to traded in the first place. Again remember that there is no obligation for disney to perform any trade.

Nope, they never allow you to trade CS or snack credits for TS credit.

Also, it's not a matter of it being set in stone that you get so many snacks or CS for TS credit. It varies restaurant to restaurant (and I believe it's dependent on the management that day). Sometimes, they will tell you that there is no exchanging credits at all. Sometimes they will only allow you an even trade (meaning you give up one TS credit for one snack credit or one TS credit for one CS credit).

The plan is structured to be used as is. I don't think it's as easy as some guests think to do all this swapping. The one time we used a TS credit to buy a CS meal, a manager had to stop what they were doing, be called from the back, and come up to approve it, and then swipe their card to override the transaction. It held up the line for awhile. I had offered to pay cash for the meal, and while making small talk, the cashier realized it was our last day and that we had TS credits left. She offered to have the manager come out to do the exchange for us at that point.

Just did this yesterday, had to pick 78 items from the food court. It is 3 items per cs or ts and they have to be either beverages or what is considered desserts, no snack items unless you are using snack credits. The manager has to ring it all up. We got the stomach flu on our 2nd day there and were unable to eat. It is totally up to the food court manager if they will allow you to do this. I was told by the hotel manager, that you use them or loose them.

Thanks everyone. From what I'm seeing in the responses, it doesn't seem possible to pre-trade CS or TS for snacks. It seems you have to try it when you are buying something at your resort (i.e. a few snack items with a CS) or at a CS (try using a TS). But I don't like the hit-or-miss because if they don't take it you are stuck.

I would think Disney would allow you to trade down more easily. It's to their benefit (less dollars) to give us something like 2 snacks for CS and 3 snacks for TS. But if they won't, I'll just have to use them as CS and TS. I don't mind trading down for less but I DO mind losing them completely.

We were there at the end of August. We traded in 2 CS at Mara and were only allowed 2 snack credits for each trade. We were also told it was up to the discretion of each place. We also trade 4 TS for 4 CS.

We asked about this in August as well. The answer seems to vary by hotel. At All Stars we were told TS could be traded for CS, because they do not offer a TS option there. Then we were at Poly and they said yes with the understanding that you are down grading.

There are no details. This is something that certain CS restaurants and perhaps even certain cashiers might let you do. There are others that might not permit it. This isn't a dining plan rule, it's just something that may be possible but may not. You cannot trade a TS for snack credits. There were a number of posters who had luck getting a resort concierge to convert CS to snack credits though.

If you are paying for the dining plan and bought it to try and save money, you should consider that you lose most of the value of those credits by trading them for snack credits.
