Got some sad news a little while ago

This week is my mother's birthday and we were going to celebrate on Thursday with her clean bill of health ( no more cancer! ) My sister goes to college down in Ft. Lauderdale but could not come up, however I got a sad phone call.....

Her very best friend in the world. Sweet, Caring, is always here for my sister and my family. She would come and cook and help with my grandmother just a sweet sweet girl and a very loving family. Her mother is now in remission.

They found her father dead this morning. He never got up. My sister is beside herself, she can't even talk to me on the phone. I just booked her a flight to come up on Thursday (we feel the funeral arrangements will be at that time)

She is only 20 years old, doing so well with her job and her life and now this happens. I am so sad for her, like I said just a lovely family. Good ole' Irish family. Her father had a brogue (sp?) always had you laughing. Just so very sad, he was young too 55/56. My heart just breaks for them right now.

Just wanted to share with you all. For you sons and daughters out there...Hug your Dad today, I can't hug mine but if you can hug yours.

How tragic!

So sad. I lost my dad suddenly when I was 20 and he was only 54. It was horrible. It has been 19 years and while I miss him everyday, I am so thankful that I had him for those 20 years. I will pray for this poor girl and her family.

He sounded like a really great guy. And as you said times like this should remind us all how fragile life is and that we should let the people we love know that they are important to us and how much they are loved. So I'm signing off to call my folks to say hi and love you. Kiss my DH & kids. Everybody else go do the same. Thats the best tribute anyone could give this man.
