Yet another crowd question....

We are considering a trip during either the Christmas (something like 12/20 - 12/26) or Winter break time frames. Our past trips have always been been during non-peak times, so we were looking for a little insight as to which period would be "less crowded" (relatively speaking). TIA.

I'm not sure how bad it will be on the 20th or 21st but I would imagine everyday after that will be the worst crowds you have ever seen in your life. While being at Disney during Christmas is very magical it is very crowded and is the one time of the year MK seems to reach capacity on a regular basis. Depending on how you are with crowds is going to make the difference on how much you enjoy the trip.

The week before the stay you have listed would be less crowded and probably the week after New Years would be low crowds. Like I said above the 20th and 21st might not be that bad but everything else is going to be slammed. If you do decide to go be sure to use EMH Mornings to your advantage. Be at the parks at rope drop and hit the most popular rides first. Also Disney should have really late extended hours during your stay and I would take advantage of those when I can especially when you don't want to do an early morning the next day.

If you take advantage of those and keep a schedule that has you eating when everyone else is riding and riding when everyone else is eating you can really make a crowded Disney look for you. Just remember if you want an evening at MK be sure to stay in the park because it does fill to capacity at that time of year.

Christmas week thru New Years is the absolute busiest WDW ever gets. The crowds start building to mammoth proportions from about Dec 18th or so and do not subside till Jan 3rd or so.Park closures due to capacity are the norm during that time frame and the resort rates prices are the most expensive of the year as well

Thanks for the updates. I think the latest offer of 4 for 7 will help make my decision for me.
