Tell me about Sea World Spooktacular?
We're going to Sea World for the very first time in a couple of weeks, and the Spooktacular will be going on.
DD is 4.5. The Sea World site barely says anything at all about what goes on at the Spooktacular, and I can't find a map of the trick-or-treat locations or much detail aside from noting one Halloween-themed Sesame Street show on the daily schedule. Do the festivities (characters, trick-or-treating) not start until noon? Can anyone tell me a little bit about what to expect for a 4.5 year old? Thanks!

The fun usually starts about 11 am. There is face painting, dance party and lots of walk around characters. They also set up little "extra" activties like painting cookies for a small fee. |

Totally unrelated, but what does "DD" mean? Ive seen many people using this. and IDK what that means. I think people also use "DS" idk.
Anyway to answer your question, there is a pathway set up, open at Noon with facepainting, costume characters, and trick or treating activities. |

Is the face painting usually free during Spooktacular? I posted another question about face painting cuz DD loves having her face painted whenever possible. As such, I'm totally willing to pay, but if its free I want to beat the lines if possible...

Anyway, Im not exactly sure if face painting is free or not. As far as a map goes, this website usually has some good info. If you scroll down the the bottom, there is info on the event. And a map option thats says "New Map coming soon" http://www.seaworldspooktacular.com/swfspook.html Im guessing their waiting to update it until later this week when spooktakular starts. Have Fun!!!! |

Once in the park, you'll have no problem finding the trick or treating locations. When we went a few years ago, it was great. Lots of dressed up characters, some doing skits and shows, games, etc. When we went, the sea lion show was Halloween themed and was very cute. It isn't the least bit scary so I am sure your young one will love it. If I remember, the face painting wasn't free but they seemed to have more places where you could have it done. Take your camera as you will want to take lots of photos.

We are considering a Halloween trip to Orlando again this year. We went to the Magic Kingdom Halloween party ON Halloween in 2009. My 6 year old was so disappointed to wait in LONG lines for candy only to be given 1 very small piece of candy. Not to mention paying an extra $200 to go to the party. We were disappointed.
We're trying to research other options for Trick or Treating in Orlando and thought about Seaworld. Our boys (DS 3 DS 7) love Seaworld so this may be a great option. Do you just pay for a park admission or do you have to buy special tix? How is the trick or treating? Any thoughts are helpful! Thanks so much! |

No special tickets. Trick or treating is included in the price of admission. We have gone every year and have noticed it gets more crowded the closer it gets to Halloween. We saw some lines for candy last year but just a few minutes worth, not really a big deal.

Thanks! Is the candy reasonable? Like candy bars or small pieces of hard candy. (Very important issue to a 7 year old.
