Flat Irons,, i really need your opinions.

I'm pretty sure if you have a flat iron, you've tried out a few others before right?
well, i need your opinion.
what are your top two choices of a flat iron, and can you list some of the flat irons you've tried out before ( maybe you've stayed the night at a friends house and used there's..? & it was a different brand of your own )

i'm not sure whether to get another chi or a babyliss.
my sister went through two chis, my mom went through one, & i went through one chi & the battery died before the warranty, but it cost money to ship back & to get it fixed and all. so i don't wanna even bother. if i get one, i'm gonna get a new one. ( don't think i'm spoiled or anything, it'd be my only birthday present. that's the deal I decided with my parents since they can be expensive and i didn't get anything this year cause i didn't want anything )

i went to my friends house yesterday, & she has a babyliss and it works great. i have normal hair, it isn't thin or thick its about inbetween because i got a perm in november last year and it's almost warn out. it was just a body perm to make it appear thicker, not for curls. my hair is kinda short, i got it cut just about three weeks ago and its about 2 1/2 inches past my shoulders.

have you ever tried a babyliss before? i think the results are amazing, and the warranty on the one i want is..limited 4 year.

the chi doesn't have a controlling temp, but the babyliss does.
and the chi tends to pull at my hair and it gets kinda stuck and it doesnt stay straight for that long. the ends of my hair start to flare out and get wavy.

if you forgot the question, what are the top two best flat irons, your opinion, and please tell me why you think so?
(& the two doesn't have to be either a chi or a babyliss, just two of the best flat irons you have tried out before )
thanks.

i had babyliss straightners before i got my new ones and they were okay. they got the job done and everything but they weren't amazing like.
now i've got remmingtion heat protection ones and they're really good. they have some kinda heat protecty thing, they straighten my hair (which is neither thin nor thick) quite quickly, have a temperature adjuster and can also curl hair as well.
also, everyone here loves GHDs. they're like obsessed with them. i don't know if you have them over there or not but i heard they're good..

do ghd's have temperature control?
i've heard before that ghds are more damaging to hair.

ehh, i'm trying to stay in a range of $90-150.
90 is kinda expensive, but it would be worth it. i never buy the cheap ones because they won't last as long and they won't work as good.
like conair, conair sucks.
i have to use an old conair one my mom has because i don't have a choice. the moment i step outside my hair poofs up.
humidity is my worst enemy if i straighten my hair with this thing.

I have a Wet 2 Straight by Remington. I got it for 25$ at Walmart about 3 years ago and it still works as good as the day I bought it. It worked fantastic before chemo with my long, thick, wavy hair. It works fantastic after chemo with my short, thick, curly hair.

Conair sucks. The important thing with any flat iron is to use a heat-damage repair serum.

Some kind of Conair (2 or 3 years. $20)
Conair Infiniti (1 year, $25)
I liked them both equally but the infiniti has a larger plate.

I love conair straighteners, I've never had a problem with them. It takes me about 5 minutes everyday to straighten it and my hair is a little past my shoulders and curly on the bottom.

i dont exactly have a namebrand one...
if you go to marshalls or places like that you can get a really good straitner for less than 30 dollars.
mine has lasted more than a year and gets to be 600 degrees and keeps my hair strait.
so i dont really think theres a need to buy a really expensive over 100 dollar straitner...
and i have really curley hair so its hard to keep strait but mine manages...

I have a Cortex, and it does a really good job. I have a LOT of hair, so it still takes about 20 minutes to straighten it, but it goes fast and stays straight all day. It was like $200, I think. I'm not sure because I got it for christmas.

I have a conair that I got at cvs for like $25. I dont have curly hair, it just tends to have a weird wave in the morning from sleeping so i use it to just straighten out all of the weird waves in my hair.
I had another conair before that that has like different pieces you can attach to curl your hair and stuff. the straightening one didnt work at all but i still use that one to curl my hair.

a couple of my friends have chi's and they swear by them.
