Just back from Beach Club

and we LOVED it... we booked a standard view room and must have gotten an upgrade because we had a clear view of the Boardwalk, it was gorgeous all lit up at night. I think it was room #3623. It did only have double beds which kind of bummed me out but I didn't want to take a chance of losing the view, it was a good trade off. I didn't put in any requests ahead of time, just wanted to see what we got. It takes alot for something to make or break my vacation though! It was extremely close to the lobby and Marketplace.
I cannot say enough about the resort, beautiful, amazing pool, wonderful staff, great transportation. We ate at Cape May for breakfast and dinner, great for both. We didn't have reservations for dinner and they worked us in without hesitation. They do close the pool quickly though if there is even a hint of bad weather on the radar, which I understand. I did overhear some lifeguards complaining about guests whining about the pool closures, which I thought was slightly unprofessional. We had a great time! My son also got picked to be the pirate of the day and open the pool, also to be a Jedi in the Jedi training program and fight Darth Vader, and picked by Captain Jack Sparrow to be a pirate! I will post pics later!
We didn't do online check-in and didn't have a single person in front of us, airline check-in at the hotel was a breeze, everything is very well thought out!

Hi! We're going to BC in 2 weeks. It'll be our first trip to Disney. Did you take the bus to Magic Kingdom? How long did it take (including waiting for the bus)? I'm trying to decide whether to go through the hassle of driving to MK, parking, and taking the transport across the lagoon or just take the bus.

Also, are there any counter service restaurants near the BC open for breakfast? Looking for a place to get waffles or pancakes for my DS.

Always take the bus to MK. Even if it seems like a bit of a wait, remember that if you drive, you can only park at TTC and then you have to take the monorail from there. (Although if it's your first trip, you may want to do that just to ride the monorail!)

For quick breakfast, go to the marketplace right off the Beach Club lobby. Or, if you want a good breakfast buffet but don't want to pay extra for the characters, walk over to the Captains Grille at the Yacht Club. It's less expensive for the same food (and, they have delicious PANCAKES at the Captain's Grille whereas Cape May does not!!)

Hi, I just got back from BC this past Tuesday.. We would grab a quick breakfast at the MarketPlace, they have cereal, will make sandwiches, fruit, etc. Have a wonderful time! We were in room 1585 (first floor) perfect in every way.
Sometimes we would grab our breakfast and go back to the room to eat on the lovely patio and talk about our upcoming day.

Thanks for input. I think we're leaning towards the bus!

How's the mini-fridge in the room? Is it full of mini-bar items, or can you fit your own items in it (milk, yogurt, etc.)?

They discontinued the mini-bar stuff years ago. It's just an empty fridge now that you can use for whatever you want.

BTW - that 8oz chocolate milk in the picture above costs $5,000! (kidding, of course, but it ain't cheap )

Thanks, I miss it so jealous of you all with trips planned! We would just grab something from the marketplace also for breakfast, cinnamon rolls, or hot bfast items like egg croissants and such, it had a couple of tables inside and also a few outside in a courtyard area... also some in the Solarium. The bus to MK was a straight shot for us, there weren't any stops on the way, took about 10-15 minutes max!

We stayed at the BCR in '06 and always took the bus, except for the trip to EPCOT, great short walk, and DHS which is just a boat away. I loved it. However, I went all out that year with ADRs and we did the Cape May breakfast one morning and I thought it was great! I loved the food selection and the characters were very attentive. But our other breakfasts were out and about except for the last day and we got food from the Market Place.

Be sure to visit the Beaches and Cream ice cream soda shop!
